http://cgi.ebay.com/BREITLING-SuperOcean-Steelfish-42mm-AUTO-A17360-B-P-EXC_W0QQitemZ230339106487

I e-mailed the seller to tell him that he has a regular old Superocean, not a Steelfish, and he told me that it's a 42mm Steelfish from 2005 and gave me a history of the 'fish that looks like was cut and pasted from this site.

The arrow-tipped second hand is throwing me off as is the reference number (A17360), but I have never seen a Steelfish with numbers on the dial except at 12, 6 and 9 (and I have owned an '05 Steelfish as well as a current one). I'm not going to argue with the seller, but I still contend that it's a Superocean. I got no real interest in this as I want a "real" Steelfish and I'm not bidding on the watch, but I was just curious to find out what you all thought.

Ross I'm not an expert but I believe you are correct.
Several points about this watch. The A17360 reference number is good for the Current Superocean as well as the first Steelfish of 2005. The later fish use a different reference number. Both the 42mm 2005 fish and the SO are depth rated to 1500m. So all in all no help so far.

The differences however that I can see are that of the position of the pressure relief valve. On the current SO the valve is at the 10:00 position and on the current fish at the 9:00 position, However, somewhere in my mind I seem to recall the valve postion being changed from the earlier fish but I may be incorrect on this point. The arrow second hand was changed in 2007 on the SO from the square to the arrow. But the big point you make is the numbers. I can't recall a fish with numbers at all positions.

The Fish was introduced as an alternative to the So with both watches being very similar. I believe the difference was in the numbering as you have suggested.

So you have a watch with numbers at all positions such as an SO.
A pressure relief valve consistent with an SO.
A second hand with an arrow that would be inconsistent with a 2005 Steelfish which the seller is purporting this to be.
The watch in the picture has I believe a PRO ll bracelet and not a Pro l which should be what a 2005 Steelfish came with. (Of course that could have been changed out)

So in my opinion you are correct.

Yes, it is a SuperOcean. Although the second hand differs depending on model year, but some do have the red arrow second hand.

Regular superocean. The second hand tip was changed from the square to the arrow near the end of its production run.

Thanks guys, that's what I figured. I'm no Breitling expert, I just own and love them. So, I was about 95% certain that I was correct but I didn't want to argue with the seller only to find out that I was wrong. In any case, I don't have any interest in this, I was just pointing out the fact to the seller.
