the most egregious, absent-minded brainfart one can do. While getting ready for a business trip, I noticed my watch had stopped so I began winding it and decided to update the date as well.

Well, I'm sure you know what happened next. It didn't take many turns to realize what I had done, but I tried again this morning and I cannot set the date. The date will not change by moving the hands 24 hours either.

I know the pinions were setting themselves, but I don't know just how delicate they are. Have I screwed my Chrono Evo up? Any suggestions that I can do vs. bringing it to a dealer? If a dealer is the only option, which I'm guessing it is, is this expensive to fix?

Thanks.

Instead of winding it, you should have just put it on your wrist and began shaking it violently. But, perhaps you warped one of the wheels when you were in the process of changing the time. The AD taught me if the time and date is off, to first put the clock at 4:30, then put the date one day before the actual date so you can determine if the watch is in AM or PM. then draw the clock forward to set the time.

Thanks guys. There is an AD in my town and I'll bring it by later. Unfortunately, I didn't buy it from them, so not sure how they'll react. I got it $1500 cheaper online. Oh well. Figured something like this would happen.
