Huh... so I'm doing more research for a possible purchase--one of the things I'm considering is a two-tone Cockpit Lady for the wife, something to make nice with her as I get a Ling for me, too. And I'm noticing that for the pilot bracelets, that there is only ONE 16mm two-tone pilot band listed, (at $2500, too, just for the band. HOLY CRAP!!!! That's a decent price for a whole watch, much less just a BRACELET!!) ![]() Does that mean that for the 16mm, you get the exact same bracelet, whether the watch itself is steel and yellow gold, or steel and ROSE gold? If so, what is the bracelet then, yellow or rose? I guess it begs another question, too--why is there such a big price difference between the Professional bracelet and the Pilot bracelet? Even if you compare, say, 22mm steel Professional to 22mm steel Pilot, you're talking $500 vs. $1300. Which brings up even another question in my mind--can you put a Pilot bracelet on a watch that Breitling puts a Professional on as standard, or vice versa? (or Navitimer bracelet, etc...) Lastly, the "Vintage" section of the Breitling price list, does that mean discontinued models that are still available for order/purchase? Or is it just "gee whiz" pricing of what older models used to cost a few years ago? (i.e. on page 26, a Cockpit Lady model "B7135612/A583 Two-Tone MOP w/11 diamonds" is listed, and I can't figure out if this is still available for purchase. I also am curious as two what this would look like, as it's got to be different than the current Cockpit Lady with 8 diamonds) |

Let me attempt this.... Ok, the 2008 Cockpit Lady, the one with cushion on dial comes in steel, steel/18ky, steel/18kr, and solid rose gold... the older Cockpit Lady only came in steel, steel/18ky, and solid yellow gold. You can order the bracelet in whatever form you would like, and it would fit, just would be silly to have a ss/18kr bracelet on steel watch or ss/18ky. The Pro bracelet consists of way less parts than the more complicated Pilor bracelet, thus the price difference. You would NOT be able to put a pro bracelet on Navi or Chronomat. I mean, the lug size might be the same, but the width of actual bracelet at case and position of the springbar is most likely different. Even if it did "fit", I bet it would look silly and just off. The older models are in catalog because some/most AD's still might have a few models in stock and even Breitling might have a few left over there. Breitling usually keeps the models in catalogs a year after they are discontinued. |

Let me also give you some practical experience. I bought my wife a TT CL in the fall of 2007. It was a custom order (a combination that consisted of standard elelements, but that was not produced as a standard production model) and I paid C$4,100 taxes in. Admittedly at the time the US and Canadian dollars were close to par, but the 'real' price for the watch / bracelet together is obviously a better deal than the list price of just the bracelet. |
