I stopped by our local Carlyle and Co. yesterday. They had 3 of their lings 30% off, and were giving 20% off on all the others. They've got 2 Steelfish on sale at $1700 each, and a ladies cockpit diamond bezel, diamond hours, on the yellow lizard band. It was absolutely gorgeous. The msrp on this watch was $6500, and they had it discounted to $4400, this is $500 cheaper than the online price (authenticwatches.com). I'm thinking of pulling the trigger for my wife. Just looking for some advice on the purchase, this is a good deal right? 30% is the highest discount thats ever been offered to me.

Thanks

30% is about what US ADs can go to without upsetting Breitling. It's possible to do slightly better sometimes depending on model. If you want a good comparison PM jnelson3097 for contact details of George at Govberg.

Which location of Carlyle & Co are the discounts offered at? I have been dealing with Carlyle as my local AD for a few years now & am curious if I can get those same deals. I agree that's about as good as it get's through an AD.

This was the Destin, Fl. location. I haven't purchased anything from Carlyle before, and I'm used to the 20% discount, but 30% def has me thinking of grabbing this watch up. If they only had the black baton Super Avenger, Carlyle would be selling 2 watches today.

I found out from my AD that the store offering the discounts is liquidating all stock because they are closing. If they have a watch you like I would say go for it!!! :D

Thats interesting. Is it just the Destin location that is closing?

I heard that several stores are closing but not sure which ones. We have two locations in my city & they will probably close one of them. They are having tough times with the company that owns them.

I hope Avenues is not closing!

Unfortunately, I probably won't buy more Breitlings there as I've found an out of state AD who offers 38% off and no sales tax. But, they're my go to place for Rolex and any other jewelry (plus as you know, they're good pople!)

Just got off the phone w/ Chris at Carlyle & Co. in Destin. Their store is not one liquidating. He gave me 20% off a Steelfish (none for $1,700). So, now I'm waiting for it to arrive w/in the next day or so. I've dealt with them before(Superocean Chrono). They are tops in customer service.

Jack you're right. I was just in that store last week and also spoke to Chris. No mention of liquidating or closing.

Well, if you guys find out which store is liquidating, make sure you let all of us know!

Harry, that is a great price for that watch. I'd be tempted to buy it myself, but that's a lot for the wife, and think I'd be looking for the non-diamond bezel, if nothing else.

Folks at the Destin store are good people...I often deal with Krystal Krohn, there...she's always been quite fair to me.

I went to the Destin location this week and they seemed willing to make a deal to get some watches out the door. I spoke with Chris.

You guys are lucky. I've got two Carlyles close by and neither carries any 'Lings at all, let alone at a discount. The Winston Salem and Greensboro, NC locations are both fairly small. Greensboro carries more, but only Rolex, Hamilton, Tag, Weil, maybe a couple other cheaper brands.

A bit off topic, but one of the stores was carrying used Rolexes. Anybody else see this? Rolex relaxing their restrictions on ADs carrying pre-owned in the face of the market meltdown?

It is up to the AD whether or not they carry used.
