I've bee shopping around for a navi world or montbrillant legend for a while now. I live in NYC and have the best advantage of anybody in the country in terms places where to buy a ling, but i went to a very close relative and i found out that he's giving me prices that are about 400 bucks more than i can get the watch on the internet. So my question is Authentic Watches .com claim they have all these models in stock, overnight shipping, and insurence with their own warranty for 3 years. I don't know but it seems to good to be true, i really don't care about the warranty since i have a watch maker in the family and he assured me, and i seen for my self that he does know a lot about these watches my friend sends his SA ones a year for a cleaning and servicing and for 50 buck its a bargain since BUSA charges 150 and takes 4 to 6 weeks. The service might be a little different since my uncle doesn't take the whole watch apart but he does calibrate it winds it and tightens it and my friend says says hes really happy with his service. Im not saying that BUSA gives the same service its probably much better but he told me he send it out to them 3 times and every year he has to send it out anyways because it starts running to fast then too slow so that's how he knows to send it in but now he's dating my cuss. and my uncle started servicing his watch he really like the service and its cheaper and faster but my question is the Internet safe to buy from especially if something sounds so good as Authentic Watches.com |

Not at all, you are risking getting and inferior or not an authentic watch. On the outside it may look authentic but on the inside I could be a different story. IMO for the amount of money you are going to invest in a Breitling I think is worth being safe and buy from an authorized dealer. |

The piece of mind of buying a watch from an AD is worth the $ you'll save online. Theres plenty of excellent fakes out there with boxes and cosc certificates. Your better off "losing" an extra $400 or whatever for the GURANTEE that the watch is authentic imho. Just my 2 cents. |

Drop jnelson3097 a PM and get the contact details for George at Govberg. He may be able to reduce the gap below $400, but as others have said the peace of mind of buying from an AD is well worth it. The factory warranty is also well worth it in my opinion, even if you have a watchmaker in the family. Neither your family member, nor an online dealer can obtain Breitling parts! |

Stick with an AD just for the warranty in my opinion. |

Definately stay with and AD. You can get the same or even better price with an AD with a little comparitive shopping. |

When you spend this kind of money for a watch, and it actually becomes a part of your lifestyle, buying from an AD with whom you can build up a rapport, and get to know and trust, is the only way to go in my book. My AD is one of the biggest parts not only of buying, but of owning the watch. I actually gave up on getting a Panerai, because my AD does not sell them. Now I am getting an Omega, mainly because the model I like is so outstanding, but also because of his passion for the watch, and the experience I have dealing with him and all who work there. It is one of my most "happy places", and I would hope that every watch lover would have the same experience and the warm welcome I get when I visit the shop. I think if you are looking at getting preowned, however, the internet is great. I have just sold my first two Breitlings, and it has been a great experience dealing with both of the buyers. I would hope that they feel the same about their experience buying from me. There are also some makes, like Ocean7, which are only available on the internet. I would say definitely go with an AD for your new Breitling, even if it is a bit costlier. Cheers, Carl |

I would certainly consider it for a preowned but never for a new. |

Actually the only time iv ever purchased from a AD in the high st was a Navi, maybe 9 years ago,no problem with that, every other watch iv bought has been off the interweb, never had a problem at all,and that includes new and used and from Breitling to Panerai,i only ever own 1 watch at a time, just change a lot,im in the middle of buying a used EM mission at the moment, just make sure you do all the checks on the person, and a face to face is always the best,i sold a Omega PO 18mths ago drove to London(230 miles),had the watch checked by a AD with the buyer and the deal was done, just DO THE RESEARCH!!,is the best advice. |

Hi Vadim. I would definately not buy new from the net. And as for servicing by Breitling, I think everyone thinking of buying any one of these fantastic time pieces should watch the Breitling Service video online, it is truely an eye opener. I think also that $400 saving is peanuts over the life time of the watch. If you only keep the watch 8 years, that's only $50 a year.....not even a dollar a week. I gaurantee you will sleep better knowing you have not been had too! ![]() |

I bought my Steelfish from Amazon.com. I trust them. I've been doing business with them for more than 10 years. The watch was very clearly brand new and 100% authentic. Since then it has kept excellent time and I'm happy. For me it isn't just the price difference. There's sales tax to consider, and for me, the hassle of going to a brick and mortar store. |

Thanks a lot guys i didn't buy from the internet, i didn't even buy it from and AD since i found them very hard to deal with, not nice people, and outrages prices. I don't know about other states but in NYC all the AD's are full of themselves, 25% off is un-heard of and they have to present the watch as if you going in there not knowing what your getting and i saved buying my new navitimer world 2400 dollars of retail and 1200 of the AD price. I have all the paperwork and both warranty's one from the guy i bought it from, and i can have my watch cleaned, re polished, re synchronized, full service by my uncle for life. And when you tell me that you look at the service video on Breitling .com that's why you buy from an AD. Well all i can tell you is that there is a reason why they show that on the website, they want you to keep making them money after they sell you the watch its a promotional video that's what they want you to think they do with your watch that's what everybody does in cars, boats, bikes, etc.... Heres some pics of my new world ![]() ![]() ![]() |
