What makes a Full Ling, if it says Breitling on it and you buy from an AD your cool right? Of course some are more desierable than others but whats the diff between say a super ocean steelfish and a SA? Their both breitlings right?

Every Ling is cool... and if you buy it from an AD then its guaranteed to be the real deal, which is also cool. A Full Ling is just a nickname used on this forum to indicate Breitlings that are exceptionally Large: Super Avenger, Bentley Motors, Motors T, 6.75, Flying B, LeMans, Navitimer World, Navitimer Montbrillant Legende...

Typtically around here, 46mm+ would be considered a Full Ling..

Please don't put too much stock in the whole "full Ling" ordeal. As Admin said all Lings are cool. In fact there are many smaller Lings that I find much more attractive than some larger Lings. It seemes to me you are too concerned with the status of the watch.

Find a watch that you think is cool, not that others would :!:

will227457,

Now that you have a basic idea of what a FULL LING is make sure you start with a Full Ling if you are not a Ling owner yet. You can ask other members of this forum like defiancekofb what happens if you fail to start with the Full Ling. Also nobody mentioned that Full Lings are always on Metal bracelets (Lings on anything but a bracelet are not even Lings) and the lug width must be 24 MM. Do yourself a favor and get a Full Ling if you have not done so already, the Super Avenger delivers the most bang for the buck and if money is no concern get a Bentley(no Gt's) only the Full Bentley. and keep in mind it's only a Full Bentley if it has the 30 second chronograph. So you see it can get a bit complicated, for example you could buy a Bentley 6.75 which is a Full Ling but it's not a Full Bentley because it doesn't have the 30 second chronograph. Or you could buy a Bentley Motors on a leather strap and you wouldn't even have a Ling.

I'd definately advocate the bracelet option - it really makes the watch. The leather/buffalo/etc straps you get make the B'ling more informal, but nothing sets off the timepiece like the full bracelet. :)

A Ling is a Ling, and if it's *your* Ling - that's all that counts (imho).

(However, 24mm is the way to go lug wise!)

Cheers,
S.

Definitely don't sell yourself short. Go with the FULL LING on your first B-Ling. You won't be disappointed.

This is a great compliment coming from the man, the myth, the legend, the one and only Ling Man. What can I say.....I had some great influences here on the forum.

Congrats on the new piece!

I'm leaning heavily toward the Super Avenger being my next timepiece.

defiancekofb,

As a matter of fact I think it may have been a picture you posted with the SA on your right hand along with Admin's new pictures of the SA that got me going on it. I think that was you with it on your right hand (correct me if I'm wrong). Then last Saturday I was having lunch with Naviman and a guy walked in with one on and I looked at it and went straight to 4 jewelers that day and nobody had one with a Black or Blue dial, all they had was the White dial and my Bentley is White. I wanted to have the contrast of the Silver sub dials with a Black or Blue dial. Then I checked with Joma Shop and they were out so I contacted Interwatches.com and finally got one by today. I love it, especially the thickness, the knobs, the crown and the big wings on the dial. I also really like how thick the links on the Pro 2 bracelet are. It's definitely a FULL LING ! I wish they made them in 2 tone and all Rose Gold would be great too.

Yeah I do wear my Ling on my right hand, I am left handed and when I am writing I don't want to scuff up my bracelet.
