My mate is looking for a Navitimer World with a black face.
He's been told by the local AD that the leadtime on a World is 6 months.

Is this normal for the World or is there just high demand at the moment?

At my AD they had about 4 Navitimer Worlds in the display case.

I was told this originally, but bought one online. Had it on my desk in three days.

If you are buying from a chain outfit (eg LaSwiss in Canada) they can call the other stores and have one shipped to their location if available. I waited about 4 months for my Cosmonaute. I'm guessing they only put an order in when enough watches are required. They don't ship one at a time unfortunately. Still, well worth the wait!

I actually have a similar situation going over here, I asked my AD for a very specific watch, Havan dial Datora on brown calfskin on a deployant. They Havan dial Datora flew off the shelf and aparentely it will be another 4 months before he gets anymore in

Shame really, his price was actually lower than online prices, but im thinking of buying online and getting it over with.

There was a similar issue with Black faced Cosmonautes earlier this year (at least in the UK) - 6 month quoted delivery time.

I almost went for anthracite with silver subdials to try and reduce the lead time, but one of the three dealers i was talking to found a black faced Cosmo and that was that :)
