If scratched deep enough, stainless steel will show through. I wouldnt say they are rare, per se, but they do become increasingly harder to find as time goes by. |

Speaking from experience....... The DLC doesn't tend to scratch, it's more the fact that when the watch gets dinged the reshaping of the metal cuases the stainless steel to show through the DLC coating which does make it visible. Mine is the AS, but it's essentially the same case material / treatment as the SA. |

Mine is the AS, but it's essentially the same case material / treatment as the SA. Exactly as Roffensian says. My AS Blacksteel did get a small ding, that did go through to the metal. Fortunately, you cannot notice it unless you really look hard. It is right on the edge of the bezel, barely larger than a pinpoint. I don't baby my watches, so I guess it was really not the one to be wearing on a daily basis, to work, in the finishing dept. of a print shop, with my hands in and out of machinery with sharp metal egdes. Live and learn, I guess. I did stop wearing it to work before it made any major dings in the watch, otherwise it looks new. I usually tell this story to everyone who wants to get one of these. Now my Seawolf is getting the fully treatment! It is my daily watch, and will likely remain as such. I had a SuperOcean for over 10 years, again print shop work, and it had scratches and dings but it still looked great! Hope this helps in your decision. cheers, Carl |

I have one and love it. It looks so much better in person and on your wrist than it does in pictures. I'd say go for it! |

![]() I actually just bought my Black Steel SA on Weds. I was never too big on it until I saw it in person and strapped it on my wrist (I tried on the BR-01 Tourbillon Phantom, but that is another story). I love it. |

If you want a black watch the BR-01 Tourbillon Phantom is a great choice. It's just 20 times more expensive than a SA |
