...and the ugly (and still small) Chronomat is a fact.

OK, a bit harsh maybe, but I really don´t like it. The bezel just takes away the soul of the model - the space/futuristic font and the new rider tabs just ruins it for me. The dial looks great though, but it just doesnt make up for the feeling of the "whole package". Very disapointing... and that it didn´t grow an extra mm or so makes it even more so.

Just my 2 cents.

...as I said above, the bezel just takes away the "good ol´Chronomat feeling". Too futuristic/sleek/and a tad Tag.
I relly can´t see how I can begin to like that bezel ever.

In the 360 degree view the caseback looks solid :(

I think it's the real back I'm afraid (rather than just for show) - it has the "ETANCHE 500M" that matches the published specs. I was really, really, hoping for a display back too.

I do prefer these new hands to those on the old Chronomat (the way they're solid and cross over the centre, if that makes sense) and I'm enjoying the detail on the subdials. All polished too; which looks very good. Overall I like the dial but the Roman version does look a bit cramped though.

I just can't get past the Tag Heuer bezel...

Could not have said it better, very disapointed! I would say I would like to see it in the flesh, but that bezel and font are just awfull!

Such a shame, I had such high expectations from Breitling, looks like I will just stick with the Bentley line, or maybe track down the last generation Chronomat in slate grey.

i can agree re the font its a bit sporty for a dressy piece but i like the understated rider tabs and the 12 o clock dot and the curve of it.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who thinks that bezel is hideous! I like the overall layout of the dial...lower positioned subs...I'd rather it have a Big Date up top though...
But that bezel...I've seen that design before and it just doesn't say :lingsrock: to me.
The bezel is much too sporty/diver-ish.

Has anyone seen the gold one with Roman numerals? One of the most hiedous things I have ever seen!

What happened to Breitling? How can a company with so many iconic, classic time pieces in their history make such a dreadfull mistake? And at such an important time in their history!

It looks like Breitling managment is trying to apeal to a different audience, and are ignoring the brands dedicated fans. Similar to what IWC did with their new Aquatimer line.

Very very sad.

Interesting model number shown - AB0110. Wonder if this is real or just for mock ups.

I think every updated design of a popular model takes a while to be accepted but it certainly has a few strange elements. The fonts on bezel, date wheel, sub-dials and face are all different. The font on the bezel looks like it could be from Joe 90! Very strange.

I agree the bezel is horrible. I think that will date this watch. Five to ten years from now you would not want to wear it because of just that.

The big thing for me though is that center square area on the dial. I have never cared for that look in the Cockpit. I think it cheapens the look of the watch, To me it looks like it is applied to a watch almost as an afterthought.

Well that's my two cents worth.
