I should be getting my Chrono Cockpit by the end of this week.

I bought it with the Croco strap. However, my wrists are only 6.5".

Any suggestions for shortening the strap underneath the deployment buckle? Even at it's "shortest" it's still too big and if I make it shorter I have overhang.

I hope that makes sense!

Im pretty sure that they make the strap in a shorter length as well. Your dealer should be able to order one for you.

Indeed - 10mm shorter on either side if I remember correctly.

Thanks! I think the watch has already been ordered though. I wonder what to do!

Is it possible to trim the strap? AD is telling me a short is not available.

I wouldn't cut the strap - the stitching would go to pot. You need another AD!!!

They can definitely be had, he just needs to get off his butt and order one. And it doesn't matter that the watch has already been ordered, there won't be a problem swapping out the strap.

Thanks Roffensian. He said he checked with Breitling and for that lug width the strap doesn't come in short! I called a few other ADs but since they can't find it in their book, they don't know what to tell me. Crap!!!!

I guess it's possible that only certain width straps come in short, but I've never heard of it. That said, short straps don't work with almost 8" wrists so I have no practical experience

As a last resort I guess you'll have to look aftermarket custom. ABP - www.abp-paris.com are very good quality - closest to Breitling that you will likely get.

After some pressing (and small threats) they were able to find me a short strap! Watch will take a few days longer to arrive but it's worth it!

Yeah, I frequently need to threaten people to let me spend several thousands of dollars in their business.
What was the thread a couple months ago bemoaning the collapse of customer service in current cultures? Further proof.

This frustrates me. Where I work we really try to treat every customer like family, most especially our Breitling customers. We order extra links for every watch, you can do up to two extra links for free from Breitling, this includes gold links. We like to have a back stock just in case. In the case of not getting the right strap, the AD just doesn't want to eat the shipping costs $30 give or take. That or he can't make a 2 min phone call to BUSA...

Anyway I hope you are happy. I think that is an excellent choice for a lady. I can't wait to see pictures so I can get my wife on the Ling obsession!

People try to give you the simple answer first (the "I dont think they make that....") and hope you leave them alone. They know how to find out, but its much easier for you to leave them alone and just assume that it doesnt exist.
