I like both of the watches, I really like the overall design of both but i prefer Breitling over Tag Heuer. Then again, I really like the clear back on the Tag Heuer, showing the automatic movement, which I really like. For some reason though, even though its a quartz watch, the Breitling Aerospace REALLY appeals to me. So what do you think, trying not to be unbiased...(like that's gonna happen) which watch will give me more "bang for the buck?"

Thanks,

I can't give you a personal account of the Tag, but here's why I like my aerospace:
1. It's light
2. It's extremely accurate
3. It goes through airport metal detectors
4. It says :lingsrock: on it
5. The features it has are useful to me

Hey cRaSiAn1030. I've seen the Tag and the aerospace. In comparing the two, I think that the Breitling is made better.

i vote Aerospace. Even though you are getting a quartz watch, its also Breitling patented SuperQuartz technology. Yeah you get to see the movement on the Carrera, but thats only when the watch is off your wrist, the rest just doesn't ''pop'' on that watch for me. Don't forget the generic ETA movement that goes in the Tag and no double coating of anti-glare on it like the Breitling. I also feel as if Breitling stands behind their pieces better, aka I see a lot more ''no charge'' repairs go through with Breitling than Tag, even though I have customers coming in with things such as push piece falling out of one, which kinda makes sense to be a factory defect. To me, TAG is just a bit too maintstream, even though they are a great watch for the money, while Breitling is a bit more exclusive. As a matter of fact, I say get both, but the Aerospace first. You, after all, are comparing two completely different styles of watches....

ok, ya, the aerospace does look nicer and is small, which is good for my wrist. One question though, besides a chronograph, what are the features of the Aerospace? I saw the review by Breitlingsource and he kept turning the crown and new features popped up, well not literally, but ya, what are those features?

Thanks,

I have the Tag, so here's my two cents.

First off, the Tag is a real looker. I wear mine on a black perforated leather strap with white stitching which makes it look very cool. It also seems larger than it measures. The bezel is not too wide/thick and protrudes slightly outside the case, which leaves plenty of room for the dial. So it seems larger than the specified 41 m.m. The dial has very good readability and balances well between simplicity and richness in detail. All in all a pretty good deal for the money if you like Tag watches.

I should think that the reasons for going for the Aerospace, personal tastes aside, would be build quality and accuracy. But having said that, the Tag uses the trusty 7750 movement and mine runs well within chronometer specs. Of course a mechanical movement cannot compete with Breitling's SuperQuartz in terms of accuracy. Very few movements can...

That is a tough decision as you are really comparing apples and oranges. In my very humble opinion (and I know others disagree) I am not a huge fan of the analog+digital look of the professional line. That said, it is an extraordinarily functional watch that (like all Breitlings) is immediately recognizable to anyone as a timepiece of very high quality. It is hard to find a another watch with the quality, robustness, precision, and functionality of the Aerospace from another manufacturer. So the Aerospace is all about function (with some decent looks thrown in), whereas the Tag is totally about looks.

And there is certainly nothing wrong with being totally about looks. I think the Carrera is an awesome looking watch. Many on this forum have argued compellingly that Breitlings provide a higher build quality per dollar than Tags. Although I tend to agree, I think at that point one is splitting hairs. If you are going for looks, then you should get what looks best for you. If you get the Tag at a good price and you love it, I don't think you can go wrong.

In the end, you should probably get both, since they are so different. :) So just figure out which one you want first.

I like the dial on the Tag, but when I tried one on, I felt the bracelet was of a lot less quality than the pro 2 that I have on my colt which is what you'd get on the Aerospace. Like others have said, they're pretty much 2 completely different watches. Your best bet is to spend an hour or so trying the different watches on and seeing which on YOU like the best.

I agree with that. The bracelet on the Tag looks nice but it doesn't wear as well as the Pro II. But I think the Carrera is the type of watch that goes better with a nice strap anyway. The Pro II bracelet is pretty hard to beat, so if that is an important then it would mean a few points in the Aerospace's advantage.

It is all based on the crown, as you spin it you will see several functions.

1) Current time - can be set to show 24hr or 12
2) Seconds and the date
3) Day and date
4) Countdown timer
5) 2nd time zone
6) Chronograph
7) Alarm
8 ) Blank

There is also a backlight function, spin the crown about a 1/4 turn and it will light up for 6 seconds.

I was in the same boat last summer. I was looking at getting a new Tag, had an old one that served me will for 18 years. So I was pretty brand loyal. I narrowed it down to an Aquaracer or one of the Carrera's I'm not sure which model, but it was a chronograph as well. I was almost going to put some money down on a Tag when I came across the Aerospace. I've always admired the Aerospace. I had seen one many years ago and it just appealed to me. So when I got a chance to get one I decided to buy it. No regrets whatsoever. Well, one, I wish I bought it sooner.

Good luck on your choice.
