Just wondering, since the Skyland (New Model) is, well..New...What kind of deals have you guys seen around. I'm quite interested in a black dialed one and haven't seen too many second hand ones around yet. Just wondering what some of the lucky few have been able to pick one up for if they were pristine and second hand. Just to get an idea for the future.
Your thoughts are much appreciated!
Chris

I dont know about second hand pricing, but I got a brand new one last March on a bracelet for $2800 (U.S.) Deals can be found, esp in this economy.

A couple of months ago there were a bunch of them on the used market. Around $3200-3500 is a very good deal.

Im guessing $2800 that Mikey paid was before the price increase last year.

How, I don't understand...

I keep reading about some of you getting this crazy deals.

Did you get it from an AD?
Was he about to go out of business?
Under what circumstances did they offer you that price?
Why are they giving away watches and losing money on them?

I mean the retail on that watch is $4550, on bracelet. You said you got it for $2995....that is 34.18% off retail....then they have to pay commission to whoever sold it, let's say 2%, plus usually the mall gets a piece of it and depending on how you paid, they have to pay 2-3% for VISA/MC or 3-4% for AMEX, not to mention shipping charges, and money needed to be made to pay for rent/electric/etc etc etc. That's literally playing pass the ball from BUSA to you AND lose money on it while doing it...how can these placese run a business?

I got mine last Feb/March (2008) so it was well before any of these price increases. (I think there was one in April of 08 and perhaps another later on here in the US) My AD is also a very good friend of mine and he knows I always pay cash, so he often gives me good deals. He doesnt have to pay comission to any of his sales guys because I always just go through him.

My first post probably wasnt that relevant because of the relationship my AD and I have, but it shows the profit margin built into some of these watches and the deals that can be had. Proper negotiating, cash in hand, and a particular model factor into the outcome. Most of the guys around here get 20-25% off pretty regularly so dont be discouraged and shop around, you will find a price that suits you, especially in this economy. Also consider this, if the price doesnt suit you, then perhaps a less expensive model should be considered.
