Is it worth the price? Or would a Chrono Superocean be the same just cheaper? If you have one, what do you like about it? Also, I was looking at some of the Chronomat Evolutions on the Breitling website and I saw the steel and 18k rose gold case with the blue dials and blue subdials with a TT pilot bracelet. Does anyone know the price of that watch?

Thanks,
cRaSiAn1030

Sorry, but only you can answer that one I'm afraid. If you think it is, then it is. I'm not being flippant with that comment, but "worth" is entirely a personal perception.

No, the Chronomat is nicer finished and more classy piece.

I dont know that id say its more nicely finished. I think they are both finished very well. I would agree that its classier/dressier though.

Realistically, I think you are paying for a bigger case, pilot bracelet, and screw-down crowns etc.

By "nicer finished" I meant attention to the details such as the screw-down pushpieces, the shape of the case, etc, etc. Not that one is better polished that the other or something....

I agree, I think the Chronomat is much dressier and elegant than the CSO, which on the other hand is more sporty and maybe more "everyday". They are two completely different watches IMHO - the best way to experience that and to see if you think the difference in price is worth it is of course to go and try them on. (Unfortunately I think you would need company to the AD - I doubt many AD would take your request seriously otherwise, if I remember your age correctly. Prejudice, yes, but I think that's the case.)

...and I have one for sale on the forum, grey dial, BRAND SPANKING NEW. If you are interested get in touch... I might be able to give you an even better price than in the listing as the SEK is still dropping against the USD.

ya, aleister, I would definitely go with my mom or dad or something, cause last time i went was like a month ago, and although the Ad's were extremely nice and willing to show me the watches, I felt kinda embarassed myself cause I wasn't ready to get the watch yet and plus I'm only 14....

hnb, ya, you got a relaly nice chronomat there, but since I'm gonna be spending around 4-5 k for a watch, maybe more, I wanna get something i realllllllyyyyy like, and yes, i really like your chronomat, but i would rather spend an extra maybe thousand and get the two tone or gold and steel versions because i love the look of those. sorry!

Thanks,

When I tried on the CSO, I thought it felt a little small and not any bigger than my Colt GMT. I wanted the CSO, but went with this instead.

Depending on bezel, the two tones range from $2500-3500 more than the all stainless steel versions.

oh really? ill check again, i could've sworn it was just steel... i think I've changed my mind though. It's still pretty expensive, so I may go for the airwolf or aerospace, which are both considerably cheaper

Then there is an older thread way back for my rosegold/steel one...

I've owned them both and I honestly don't see any appreciable difference in finish or build quality between the two. Both are excellent watches and I enjoyed them both. In my opinion, the price difference reflects the trend towards larger watches, and the fact that the Evolution is Breitlings best selling watch ever (I think I read this somewhere, correct me if I'm wrong). Having said this, I think the SOC is a bargain, it is alot of watch for the money, as long as you like the look and smaller 42mm size. The SOC has screw down pushers just like the Evo, so I'm not sure what the other posters meant by that.

Try them both on and see if the EVO look and size is worth the price difference, and you have your answer.
