Post subject:  Im very new here...

Hi - 1st ever post so please be gentle...

Love the site and this forum area has been my main source of Breitling info over the last month or so since finding it - it has even lead me to me selling my other "non breitling" watch to enable me to start saving for my first ever B-ling.

Just a couple of points:

1. RE the ebay listing selling blank Breitling warranties. As much as I hate anything like this I am viewing it as a positive thing for me as I was considering purchasing a Breitling from ebay, however now I know that these kind of things can be obtained I will be sure to save a bit longer and purchase from an AD.

2. I will be visiting the far east at the end of the year and was wondering what the prices are like from ADs in Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand compared to the UK - I have a choice of one of these places as a stop off on my way back from NZ / Australia and whilst my decision will not be baased purely on this I would like to consdier it as a factor. Any advice from you guys greatly appreciated.

Comments welcome & thanks in advance for any responses.

Can't comment on the Far East ADs, but welcome to the forums!

I would never buy ANY luxury item off ebay...especially watches. If you do, even alittle bit of shopping, you can get just as good or better deals from an AD with the added assurance of Piece of Mind.

:yeahthat

I agree, be very careful, I've been burned once but never again, do your homework and remember if you do choose to buy through e(vil)bay BUY THE SELLER first.

Good Luck!

Welcome!
I'm afraid I can't comment on Far East prices. I don't think I would buy such an item on eBay either.
I will say this, though: There is nothing that completes the purchase and owenership of a new Breitling, like a good AD. If you find the right one, you are in for years of hassle-free service. Sometimes, you may not get exactly the price that you see on the internet, but with an expensive watch the piece of mind is more than worth it. I know there are many on this forum who agree with me.
Please enjoy the forum! This place is one of my favourite spots for recreation and entertainment!
Cheers,
Carl

Welcome!

Without any actual information to back it up, from what I've heard I suspect Hong Kong and Singapore might be the best places to look.

On the other hand, if you're visiting Australia, you might consider taking advantage of our recently-collapsed currency and buy something here... For some brands/models at about the end of last year, this was supposedly one of the cheapest places in the world to buy, taking exchange rates into account. Plenty of brands have now bumped their prices up across the board to deal with this, but you might find that many are still cheaper than in the US or UK.

Thanks to all for the replies. In reply to alex** - I think I am after a Navitimer World on the bracelet but as I am still in the "saving" part of my project to obtain a Breitling, this may change, and possibly several times . Where is Michal based as I am yet to try on any Breitling?
