I'm undecided between these two and I'd love to hear some opinions.

Both are beautiful pieces, can't go wrong with either. Some will sa the Blackbird has a more "casual" dial, some will say it may be more desirable...but It really comes down to personal preference.

While I really love that grey dial on the Chronomat Evo, my choice would be the Blackbird. I realize it is quite a bit more money, but to me it is a "Special Edition". The big date is amazing, and the special bracelet with the facets is outstanding, although you can get it for any of the models, I believe.
Try them both on, if they are both available, and with that which rings the loudest bell.
Cheers,
Carl

They are both nice pieces (and pretty similar in many ways as indicated) but I like the Chronomat out of the two. It is slightly dressier in my opinion but that's me. Try them both on as Carlhaluss said earlier and go with what you like more!!

Good luck :D

If money isn't a consideration I'd go for the Blackbird. Big Date, a bit nicer imho. You can't go wrong with either. Good luck.

Is it difficult to change the strap on my own?
I'm thinking to purchase an additional rubber strap and keep changing them depending on what clothes I wear that day.
Or if it's not too healthy for the watch to change them too often, then maybe I'll wear one month the metallic bracelet, next month the rubber strap, and so on...

Newbie, here. I've just bought a new, polished Blackbird from my local AD here in the UK and I just love it. :D

Was looking at a Super Avenger first but too big for my slim wrists, next the AD showed me a Navitimer which I loved but a bit too delicate and not water resistant enough so he showed my a Chrono Evolution which was lovely. Was ready to commit until I saw the Balckbird, stunning bracelet, big date but more subtle with its same colour sub-dials. I've had it for 2 weeks now and I jsut love it. Managed to squeeze a 15% discount too!

One thing I've noticed is that the back of the case doesn't just have 'Blackbird' written across it as shown on the website (and another AD when looking for a bigger discount), it know has an engraved Breitiling logo and the words

'Chronographe BLACKBIRD Automatic 300m'
'Edition Speciale Manufacture en Suisse'

Anyone else seen this on the back?

Never seen that back before. It might be a new thing.

Either way, can we see some pics of the polished Blackbird?

Firstly :welcome: to the forums...

...and to answer your question my Montbrillant 1903 has 'Edition Speciale' on the back also.

Enjoy your time here :D

I think both are great, the Chronomat has the advantage of many dial colours so if your choice were going to be black then I would go for the blackbird as having a large date Breitling myself I cannot recommed more highly the functionality and beauty of the big date complication, it is magical to watch it change instantly! If a black dial was not in the equation then the cronomat, I love the silver dial myself!

What is the difference between Big Date and normal date?

Also, I hope to get an answer to my previous question regarding the straps changing thing.

That's the exact same Evo that George is holding for me right now and I can't wait to get it. I do like the blackbird, but the graphite dial looks amazing in my opinion.

The big date is wonderful. It consists of two rotating disks with numbers on them. when it comes to the date change they automatically flip over instead of the normal way which is slowly turn over.
It is really cool to watch the date flip in the wink of an eye. Apparently is is quite a complex thing to achive!
