I ask this question because my AD does not seem to know (?!)

I got a new Steelfish on SS ProII from an out-of-state reseller (not AD), so the bracelet came with the watch. But I really want a dark brown leather deployant strap. I went to my AD on Wednesday and they have no deployant leather straps at all, much less in my size. In fact, they didn't even have a 20mm clasp. So they are ordering these for me, and even gave me a discount off of list, but the salesperson had no idea how long it would take. 1 week, 1 month...who knows?

I figured I would by from my local AD because they are very nice and let me look at all kinds of watches which I then go buy used from somewhere else. They even let me bring in my ill-gotten Breitlings to have the bracelets size and swapped, etc, even though I did not purchase them there. So I wanted to actually buy something from them.

However, I am leaving for Vegas 1 week from Saturday, and there are 11 ADs in Vegas. Surely 1 of them must have the strap I am looking for. I probably will not have the new strap from my local AD before I leave.

So I could try and get one in Vegas, but I would feel even badder for having now "double-crossed" my local dealer. Hmmm.....

Also, anyone know anything about the ADs in Vegas? I see Caesars has both a Tourneau and "Roman Time" which both carry an impressive array of brands.

Thanks,

Mofongo

I can't speak for US ADs, but both my Swedish AD and my Japanese AD have never needed more than a week (5 working days) to get me straps and accessories from the distributor (when they haven't had the things in stock themselves).

Id give your AD a week or so to get it. Otherwise, im sure you have at least another couple ADs in your area, dont you? Vegas is pretty stingy with discounts. One place offered me 10% off a Breitling and she acted like it was a big deal. She kept calling it a "sale."

BTW, your AD having no clue what time frame you should expect is pretty crappy. At least some type of estimate would be nice.

They only have to come from BUSA, so as others have said it can't be more than a week - and I would expect quicker.

Thanks, everyone. I feel better now. She said she would fax the order in that evening (Wednesday). Hopefully if BUSA shipped it out be today it will be here by Friday next week (you would think they would spring for 2nd day air or something).

Yeah, I think the salesperson who helped me was not normally one of their Breitling people. They were short staffed because much of their staff (along with everyone else in Seattle) has a cold or the flu right now. She seemed quite surprised that they had such a paltry selection of straps. My guess is that she personally had not had to order a Breitling part before. She was also worried that they might have to have one shipped from Switzerland, although I would have thought a brown strap was a common enough item for BUSA to have in plentiful stock. :?

Unfortunately, there are no other ADs in the Seattle area. You have to go to Porland, OR or Vancouver, BC to find someone else.

That is interesting about the Vegas dealers. Vegas is weird...you either get an insanely good discount, or nothing at all. Probably the dealers in areas popular with wealthy international shoppers know that if they stick to their guns, they will get a sale anyway.

Thats what I figure. When im in Vegas, everything is either free, or an arm and a leg. There seems to be nothing in between.
