would you expect AD's to discount discontinued models or will they just let them sell out?

Every model can be discounted, whether brand new or discontinued. If you mean an 'extra' discount, I would think it depends on the model. Something like the B-1 that a lot of people are after will probably be discounted less than a model such as the sunburst dialed airwolf.
