Purchased a wolf 4.0 winder. Wondering how many turns a day it should be set at for a 09 SA and which spin direction. Oh and has anyone heard any good or bad on this winder? I hope it fits the watch!
Thanks Always
Cory

Orbita have a database of watches, the direction and turns per day needed - here's the page that includes Breitling - http://www.orbita.net/pages/17102B.htm, and here's the hompage to navigate to other brands - http://www.orbita.net/pages/17100.htm

hi,
a bit confused...
the orbita database recommends 800 CW for the B24 movement but the breitlingsource database (http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... er_52.html) recommends both directions...
which is it?
many thanks,
PG

Holy old threads!

The ETA 7754 base which Breitling uses for the calibre 24 needs 800 clockwise.

Well, good on him for searching and tacking on to an old thread, instead of making a new duplicate!!!

Not sure where an expression of surprise about a 4 1/2 year old thread got interpreted as me being unhappy :huh

I have a Heiden winder. Their website says all breitlings should be set at 988 TPD clockwise. I did that but all my breitlings would stop on the third day or so. So I went ahead and put the settings on the highest which is 1460 TPD clockwise. Will that be ok? Is there such a thing as over winding them? Don't mean to hijack the tread but after reading this... I started to think about it.

Different calibers/movements have their own requirements in terms of direction and TPD. Have you checked the links in Roff's reply (post #3?)

Heiden website is about as unreliable as their winders. Your watches should not be stopping after 3 days at nearly 1000 TPD unless some or all are CCW only or the winder is not coming close the TPD it is set to. Having had a Heiden winder before my first focus would be the winder, either the settings on the back or the winder not turning as much as it is supposed to.

For simplicity, I keep all my winder settings at 850 TPD and have never had a watch, Breitling or otherwise, stop.
