I spend almost all of my watch forum time, here. Recently I browsed WUS and couldnt help but notice the sizable amount of threads that are EXACTLY the same title, by the same author..... that are posted here.

Am I the only one who finds this practice really wierd?

Can't say that I find it weird. When I did notice it first I thought it a bit odd to duplicate postings. However, I guess it's like getting yourself out there, and sharing your knowledge, thoughts, ideas and photos with as many like-minded people as possible. It's a bit like saying hanging out with anybody except those in the same crowd is weird. I do stray over to a couple of other sites occasionally, and sometimes leave the odd comment. The other sites, I don't find as free and easy as Breitlingsource.com. For example, I was on WUS once, and really wanted to help out a guy who wanted to see what a Steelfish on an OR strap looked like. Without thinking, I posted a comment and a link to this site so he could see the pics, and it was deleted. This is but one example of how I find some of the other sites to be difficult. However, out of respect to their rules and regulations, I try to think there must be good reason for all these things, and I really should read up on their set of rules & regs. Anyway, I'm getting off the subject.
There really is no rule that says the same posts cannot be made on other sites. Personally, I tend to feel most comfortable posting on this forum, and I enjoy getting to know the people on here. Myself, I feel a bit odd sometimes when I do go on the other sites, but I think it's just a comfort thing. Getting to know the folks on this site has definitely made it more of a pleasure to spend time here. I guess it's just what one is comfortable with.
Cheers,
Carl

I have to confess that I've abandoned WUS and TZ - this place is just more me (weird huh!).

It doesn't really surprise me though, people looking for as many opinions / as much acceptance as possible.

Almost every single other forum out there has a no-linking-to-other-forums policy.. its a common practice... though here I don't really care. Unless you're doing some bad stuff. Then its :guns: time

This is why this is such a great place to hang out Nelson, you and the mods do a bang up job and I find this forum to be the best behaved, everyone really just cares about having a place to hang out and get away from the world for a while. Other forums get really crazy at times and they become a less friendly place to hang out, keep up the great work guys!

This is the only place I post, with the exception of a few panerai questions on PaneraiSource, so at least I am "keeping it in the family"!

I've always enjoyed the friendly and laid back atmosphere here, and as I've said on a couple of other posts, it's a testament to the maturity and professionalism of all you guys that means that Admin, Roff and I don't have too much to do in the way of moderation.

It's a bit of a cliché, but it really is you guys that make it the place it is!

I regularly visit an post here and on WUS. Since many of the users are different, posting on both sites is pretty normal to me since you will be leaving out a lot of possible good answers if you limit a question to only one forum.

This forum is great...I have learned so much from you guys and I really appreciate all the time that you put into your answers. I used to frequent one other car site, but it got way out of hand over there on a regular basis. Folks here are much better...I would say more "professional" even!

Wish I could spend much more time here, but my job keeps me pretty busy. But I do lurk quite often, if only for a few moments...thanks again everyone.

This forum is easier to navigate and has great people.

It's like this: If I know I want to buy a BMW I don't go to a European car emporium, I go to a BMW dealership ;)

:yeahthat

I could not agree with you more. This is one of the most user-friendly websites/forums I have ever had the pleasure to use. Not to mention all of the other attributs and pleasures that come along with it. It is much like a well-run business: if the guy(s) at the top have it all together and are happy and respect all the others in the organization, then that feeling is reflected in all departments and behaviours of the employees. Just like on this website.
Cheers,
Carl

I'll give you my take on this:
While I read the other two major Breitling forums, I spend most of my time here.
I rarely post anywhere, as I quite frankly have little to add. (Plus, Mario will remind me that I am tardy in posting pics of my collection... :D )

I recall posting on TZ's Breitling forum a few years ago, and for the sake of brevity, shortened Breitling for Bentley as 'B4B' in my post.
I was roundly castigated by a not so young lady from Maryland who took me to task, pointing out that I should 'NEVER shorten such things if I ever expected those of us who are true WIS'ers to respond' (this taken directly from a private pm, not the public breating she gave me online.) To say the least, I posted an explanation/apology, and quickly decided that I would only peruse the site for info, not for comraderie.
Now, make no mistake, I've shared dinner with Terry and hold Chick in high regard. The same can be said for the fellows on WUS. However, I find the general tone on BS to be much more in line with my easy going manner. (Unless I'm shooting at the range, and then all bets are off)
While this story and my further explanations are actually far afield of what this topic was originally about, I thought I'd add my tuppance.

Having said all of that, I'll add two more bits: There are two gentleman here in particular who have befriended me with no regard or knowledege of me, inviting me for drinks, etc., and for that, I am truly grateful and touched (cue sappy music). While the internet has a built in psychosis that allows the meek to generally turn into hostile punks that are guaranteed a modicum of anonimity behind a keyboard, I find this site holds some wonderful people who share a passion from around the world.
THIS is why I enjoy and participate in this community.
That is all. Rant over. Time to crawl under my rock....

You should certainly come out and play with us more often ;)

And yes sir, you ARE tardy on those photo's! LOL sorry, but you have the most amazing collection, something I couldn't have, even in my wildest dreams. I'm just trying to live vicariously through your 'sickness' we all admire so much :D
