Hi!

I´m new on this site and I would like to say hello to everyone. My name is Goran and I´m 27 years old and live in Sweden. Just got my brand new Breitling Chronomat (which has been my dreamwatch since I was 16). I really love it and my interest in watches has been reborn. The next watch on my wishlist is the Montbrillant Legende or Datora.

Now to the question:

After owning my Chronomat for a week I discovered a tiny piece of dust inside the glas. I was shocked since i know the watch is water resistant so the dust must have entered when making the watch. But I thought that Breitling, being a expensive and exclusive brand, worked in dust-free enviroments. Maybe it was stupid of me to think that but it´s really annoying when I´ve paid 8.000:- (dollars) for my watch and to find such a irritating flaw. The piece of dust isnt big, in fact you can´t spot it without knowing where to look. But I found it since I couldn´t stop staring at the watch :)

I contacted my watch dealer and the guarantee covers it so they will send the watch to Breitling and they shoul fix the problem.

But what do you guys think? Has it happened to anyone here? Is there any risk sending my watch since they will open it?

I appriciete every advice and story about dust in your watches. Hope I´m not alone ;)

I noticed a little piece of dust in my first Emergency. Sent it in and it came back 10 days later dust free.

Send it in and demand a gift for the inconvenience.

Welcome. I personally find it unusual. Glad they are taking care of it for you.

Welcome!

Good start with the Chronomat, I think. Which version did you get? As you'll soon see, people will start asking for pics (I guess I broke that barrier now), as there can never be too many Breitling pics. :) Going along with a Legende in the future also seems very right, I think, but I'm more than biased I guess.

As for the dust, you should send it in. You've noticed it and now it bugs you (and I can understand that), so it should be fixed. Experience say that the sooner you take care of it, the more likely it will be taken care of. And as said above, it doesn't need to take long at all. Good luck!

Edit: By the way, is it Goran or Göran?
