Hi everyone,

I have just purchased my first Breitling - a Super Avenger. However, when I try to operate the chronograph, it seems that the seconds hand moves properly, but as the minutes pass the top totalizer does not advance with each minute. Rather, it advances to the first mark after the first minute and seems to stop there, and only as a few more minutes pass it advances to the second mark and stays there.

Is it flawed ? Am I doing something wrong? PLEASE help!

That doesn't sound right to me... get it checked out. It should advance one minute every time.

I think it's in your head, the first mark is the first minute, look at 5 min mark and count back. There are four points before the 5 min mark. Meaning the mark you think is the half mark is actually the 1 min marker.

Here is my SA for reference, the numbers are represented in minutes.

There is a possibility that the spring on the minute indicator wheel has too much tension. In this case you'll have to take it to a watchmaker to get it adjusted. It's a fairly easy fix, although you might have to leave your watch for a couple of days, so they can do a proper quality control check.
Good luck!

defiancekofb,

I have an old Chronomat that is a Caliber 13 too that always did that. When the large second hand passes the 12:00 it doesn't always advance the minute sub dial ahead one second. However the hour sub dial works fine. I never bothered to get it fixed.

Hi all,

I handed my SA in for repair at an AD lab, and it was quite easily fixed and returned to me within a few hours. Thank you all for your replies.

acceldebt, I suggest you do the same for yours. [/quote]
