Post subject:  Navitimer World Date Problem

I just got my Navitimer World on Christmas Day 2008 and I had to say goodbye to it this morning. Last night when I went to wind it up and set the date I noticed that the date was changing between 4 and 7!!! It would flip over to the new date right at 6!

I'm a little disappointed to say the least that I'm already sending the watch in for warranty service just 1 month after purchasing.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? and does anyone have an idea of how long I'll have to wait before it is back on my wrist?

yes same problem on mine. the date was changing at 3am instead of ~12. took less than 3 weeks including shipping time from me to breitling and back (i'd sent it next day usps and breit shipped it back 2 day UPS).

Thats good to hear. Did they charge you or mention what caused the problem? How has it been since?

it was fixed under warranty for free, they mentioned a broken wheeldate. it would still not change the date at exactly 12, rather 12:10-12:25 but i maybe that's the movement.

Yeah -- I don't mind if it doesnt change exactly at 12 but if its changing at 3 to 7 then the time is always totally off!!!

I just bought a gator strap for the watch too... I guess I'll have to wear it on my SA for the time being :-)

I just had mine in warranty service (I got mine in July 2008) and it was returned to me less than 3 weeks later, fully polished and rebuilt and in a nice little box.

Overall, I was very impressed with the service. I surely didn't want to be without my watch but it wasn't too bad.

You're right, it IS just the movement. The base 7750 doesn't tend to change exactly on the hour.

The most common reason for this problem is using the quickset date function between 8pm and 3am. Depending on what get's damaged (and how badly) the date change either becomes offset - i.e. changes at the wrong time, or becomes 'hung' mid way through a date change.

There are obviously other causes, and Breitling will certainly address as others have indicated, but anyone whose watch has a quickset date should be aware of the dangers of this.
