Speaking of unexpected quality control problems with Breitlings, I also have a story to tell.
I was just about the buy a NEW Breitling Airwolf from one of my local AD's when I noticed the seconds hand did not line up with all of the minute marks. It was in line with the 12 o'clock position, however it progressively got worse at the 15 minute mark, where it was approximately 1/4 second ahead of the mark. It was like this at the 30 minute mark and then got better until it was lined up at 12 o'clock.
I couldn't believe what I had discovered and I certainly did not expect this from a Breitling.
I checked the blue dial Airwolf he had in stock, and this was slightly better, but still visibly out of alignment.
As far as Breitling claim that their watches are "Instruments for Professionals", these two watches clearly did not fall into that category.
I am still very disappointed with what I had discovered.
