ok guys i just had an offer from my father...here it goes he wants to trade his 4 day old rolex milgauss white face for my breitling chronomat evolution....should i do it?

I wouldnt, there arent too many Rolex models that I like, and the Milgauss just isnt one of them. Alot of hype surrounds this watch and people go gaga over it, and to be honest I just dont see why. Plus you are dropping alot in size. Some Rolexes wear larger than others, but this one is a big down size from a Chronomat Evo.

If it was the black face with green glass I would say yes but the white one looks aneamic to me and the orange on the white just does not work!

yeah i just want to know if i made the right choice...i mean im a breitling man and all but what would you guys do honestly? i mean the white with orange is nice it has alot of shine to it and for some reason the milgauss with the white face looks bigger than the black one?????

I think the black/green looks outstanding, not even comparing to the white one.

well actually guys the white one i like more than the black with green!!!!! the white one makes the watch look a little bigger and it makes the polished stainless steel stand out more!!!! and the white just looks clean and smooth........but im not gonna trade for my chronomat..no way my chronomat is prettier than any rolex out there in my opinion and in the end its what your happy with.

Keep this in mind: There is a reason he want to trade you, your watch is better (in many ways) than his watch and he is envious of what you have. I really like the green crystal version of the milgauss(which is the only Milgauss I would own), but there is no comparison to the Chronomat.

Now the Daytona and the Chronomat... that is a more even comparison, IMO.

If it wasn't your father, i'd say do the trade, then sell it on the secondary market and buy another Chronomat and pocket the change... but since its your father, I would just decide which one you like better and just make your choice accordingly. I want a milgauss right now personally, but like Mikey was saying, its one of the over-hyped Rolexes.

The rolex milgauss white face is a hard to get watch...but its not my thing...
And the Evo looks better and bigger

There was a reason you bought the Chronomat - if you swap it then you may well regret it. It sounds to me like you already know what you want to do, and I think we're reassuring you that it's the right thing - stay with the Breitling!

If I had another Breitling or a larger collection, I'd trade just for variety's sake. Plus (let's be honest) he's giving you a watch that's going to maintain value a lot more. I realize there's more to the decision than that, but there are days myself when I would like to wear a watch that's still quality, but more understated. The Mil would fit that description.

Remember, he is your father. I'm sure there is an emotional factor
that a lot of the responders aren't considering. If he absolutely loves
your chronomat and you think you could "learn to love" the Milgauss,
I'd say do it.

Now there's the monetary value to consider. In the years to come,
that Milgauss is going to be worth a lot more than the Breitling (Sorry,
guys). Milgausses from the '70s are selling now for $20-$30 grand at
auction. It's something to keep in mind.

However, if the Chronomat is truly your baby, if you can't live without it,
explain it to the old man. He should understand. Moreover, I think he'll
learn to love that Rolex. It's not hard.
