Post subject:  POLL: Polished Blackbird or not?

I'm wondering, which Blackbird do you think looks better, the polished one or the one that's not polished? I just want to get the right one when i end up buying it. $6000 is too much to spend on something i wont like.

Thanks,
cRaSiAn1030

Either one is a great watch.

I have the brushed version, looks more rugged and is more suited to my (outdoor) life.

both look great but itys a blackbird its meant to be brushed, when the release a chrome plated version of the plane the polished version of the watch will be ok.

Brushed.
I had a close look at both of them, a couple of months ago at my AD. The polished is definitely spectacular! It is probably the most polished Breitling I have ever seen. Even the bezel is polished. Just a bit too much for me. Also, I think the dial on the polished needs a bit more "sparkle". It just looked a bit too flat for my liking, with the polished look.
Love the rugged look of the brushed version.
Most Breitlings, I have to say, look good with a variety of bracelets/straps. This includes the Blackbird. Having said that, however, I think that the Pilot bracelet is a must. It has a beautiful faceted bracelet unique to this model, although I believe it can be ordered specially for others models, with a 22mm lug width.
Cheers,
Carl

While I think every other Breitling should be polished, I think the Blackbird should ALWAYS be brushed IMO.

It's always been a model inspired by the Blackbird spy-plane, so I think the watch should always be understated and more military-like that any other model.

Don't get me wrong, the polished version looks great, but it loses that quintessential "Blackbird-look" compared to the brushed version.

The polished is VERY, VERY SHINY!!!!!! I agree with D8. In keeping with the original intent of the BB, I would also say brushed.

Go with what you like best. Buy it for your tastes not for what others think looks best.

Good luck in your decision.
