I've never taken a watch to a pawn shop, but I have traded a few and how much a jeweller will give you is entirely dependent on the model, the condition, and how optimistic the jeweller is feeling!

In terms of which tend to hold their value more, I'd say it's always the Limited Edition models, but even those you'll more than likely lose a little on list if you sell them. I can't think of a single Breitling model that sells on the second-hand market for more than it was new.

Based on my limited snooping at used Lings, the following still seem to be a commanding a high price:

Bentley - any of the range!

modern cal.23 Navitimers

Avenger M1 - a used one can cost more than it new value 2 years ago!

Avenger M1 - suprized to hear that, can you explain why? because of the magnetic puchpiece?

I find that they all sell for similar percentages used, except for LE's.

There just aren't many M1's being sold at the moment. Therefore the prices especially on eBay are quite high.
