I am STILL deciding between a late model 2007 SuperOcean black dial (no painted bezel numbers and updated arrow second hand) or a Colt II black auto. Both on the diver pro strap. The strap comes in Friday so I need to decide by then. I went to the AD yesterday to look at them and came away even more confused. Both have their pros and cons. I really love the dial of the colt but I love the cool extra water resistance, helium valve, and lumed number dial of the SO (doesn't hurt that it's less expensive either). Anyway, wish me luck... as you can see I'm spending too much time deciding on this when I really can't lose this situation.

Both are cool ... so you'll enjoy either... good luck.

I would personally go for the SuperOcean, better spec'd and better resale

Few weeks ago I had to make decision, Colt or Superocean. I did like to look of Colt quartz, painted numbers and simplicity but, nothing wrong there, it's a quartz watch so no for me. Colt automatic, well, it was too simple and blank so I ended up with new Superocean. Maybe only thing I would chance with watch is the numbers, all them to be painted and maybe some lume on it, otherwise nothing to complain (so far 8) ).

As you know only you can make your decision, but if it was mine to make I'd go for the SO (again). Good luck deciding!

Good luck. I'd go the SO route as well :)

I REALLY like the dial on the colt. It was my first B, and is still one of my favorite dial designs. The SO is a bit larger which is more appealing to me, but if I had to take one it would be the Colt....but then again I like the size of the SO....I see your dilemma... :?

haha yea that has been my problem for the past few weeks. I like things on the Colt and I like things on the SO. I do have one question... what kind of resale do you guys think I'd have in the SO in the future. I'm thinking I could have really good resale given that Breitling is going in house. I'm thinking the prices could be significantly higher in 5 years.

The prices for all Breitlings will be higher in the future.

While the SO and the Colt share the exact same movement, I would argue that the SO is slightly more desirable on the used market.

I just read your post, and went back to the "models" section, to have a look at both the SuperOcean and the Colt. I had the SuperOcean just before the one you are thinking of getting. Traded it last year, when I bought my AS Blacksteel. How I wish I had kept that watch! When they updated it to the version you are looking at, I liked it even more. I had a Diver Pro strap put on mine as well, and it looked great! After just looking at the SuperOcean again, and the Colt II Auto, go for the SuperOcean. I love the numerals on it, and it just seems to look more appealing than the Colt II. You could even try it with a brown leather strap a bit later, looks great with the black face and will bring out the gold Breitling logo as well.
Go for the Superocean I say!
Cheers,
Carl

GOOD LUCK! It is a win-win situation, though.

As of now I'm leaning towards the SO. I figure it has better specs plus in 10 years I'd rather have an old SO over a Colt. I'll definitely let you guys know and I'll try to put some pics up.

Good luck. For what it's worth (which isn't much, because it's your choice to make), I'll put in another vote for the SO.
