You might want to delete your original post and re-post this in the Breitling Discussion area. It seems you have posted this in the gallery section.

Just had a surprise visit to my AD tonight after work. They actually had an Avenger Skyland Blacksteel in the window! It is not really the watch for me, but it sure is impressive. I went in to see it, and you can immediately tell it's real black steel, and not just a coating. Wow! I have never seen a watch that looks so thick. The crown looks amazing in the black. It is a real beefy looking watch. Even the rubber Diver Pro strap looks like it is thicker or more beefed up or something. If I could afford to get a number of watches of that caliber, I would definitely add it to my collection. As it is, I fell in love again with the Blackbird, and will probably be getting that in the New Year. My AD will take my old SuperOcean in trade, and I can get at least 25% off the price. Breitling has lowered their prices in Canada to compete with US prices, and what was $6650. for the Blackbird, is now $6050. Already a saving of 600.00.
cheers,
Carl

Unfortunately Carl, the blacksteel IS just a surface coating (albeit a very tough one). If the steel was actually coloured all the way through....., and if the caseback was also blacksteel......, and if there was a bracelet option...., then I might have considered one, as I think the head itself is great looking. But there are far too many potential negative points for me to dip my toe into the blacksteel sea!

Ok, there is something I have to say there....
I am the owner of a blacksteel... N#54/2000
AND IT IS A REALLY TOUGHT WATCHE!!!!
I use is everyday for work (I am a helicopter pilot)
And there is not a single scratche on it.
I have also a FORTIS B42 flieger in steel, and already scratche...

It's black beautifull, I love it
It look very cool with a rubber strap, and this watche is not made to go to the office to bling bling the secretary. It's made to be used and abused....
Cheers

Post subject:  I am buying the skyland for my husband

Someone mentioned that the skyland might get discontinued. I hope not. This is the first breitling my husband will have. He always wanted one. I am a little nervous about this.

I cant imagine that it has only been out a few months. Maybe they are confused with the limited edition version in black steel.
