For some odd reason I always thought of Breitlings as less reliable than my other watches, like Rolex, Omega etc. I suppose this mindset stems from the fact that so much effort and attention to detail is put into each piece at their price point they have to cut corners some place, as well as the complaints read on many forums.

However, I was testing my 6.75's accuracy yesterday and it was +1 seconds a day, which is excellent! And now that I think about it I have never had any issues with any of the 8 Breitlings I have ever had. In fact along with my previous Rolex watches they have been the most reliable by far.

I was just wondering, how many of you have had issues with your Breitlings?

I only have a couple Breitlings, and both have been issue free. Having said that I don't think I could describe how p/o'ed I'd be if there were any issues with them at $3k a piece. If Timex can take a lickin and keep on tickin for $12 there is no excuse for a brand like Breitling to have a record of problems. Hopefully the issues folks here have had are isolated incidents.

I've owned quite a few Breiltings over the years and never had any problems worse than a regulation..... which you'd expect every now and then from a mechanical movement anyway, so I don't class that as a "problem". I voted "no problems at all"

Some part of the bezel on my SuperOcean gave out after about 10 years, and it got fixed in the major servicing anyway. Other than that, minor problems, not mechanical, all fixed by my AD without any hassle or argument. Total of 5 Breitlings so far, and if I could afford it would not hesitate to get more!
Cheers,
Carl

I voted no problems as well. I've had to have acouple of pieces regulated, and I don't have every watch accurate to COSC specs - but I don't expect that in 60 year old watches. All of my modern pieces have been perfect so far (touching wood).

The only problem that I have is the constant need to acquire more :?

Just minor issues since 1997 (had five Breitlings over these years);

The "bezelspring" of my then 9 year old Superocean broke - got it fixed free of charge.

My second Chronomat had some issues with the chronometre hand not moving smoothly forward ("jumpy") - also fixed free.

Nothing but love for the brand here... almost obsessive love even, hahaha...

My Hour Counter on my stop watch would not re-set - even though my second and minute counters got re-set.
And this on my BRAND NEW SA - Batons, which was probably one of the first to arrive in Dubai.
A trip to the AD got that sorted out.

Of course, I wear my SA about 20 hours a day (even while sleeping) and I notice it tends to run a bit fast after sometime. Probably needs some calibration. But no serious issues really.

I've never had any problems at all with my Breitlings.

And I suspect you won't get many votes for the third option - someone finding Breitling that bad will probably not be around this forum.

No probs with 4 of the 5 we have, but my wife's SOH 38 went back to Breitling yesterday for the THIRD time in 10 months, gaining almost a minute per day AGAIN.

It's a pain in the **** really, as it's never been accurate. It seems to gain steadily as each week passes. Anyway, 3rd time I lucky I hope!

Nick

I guess that makes me stand corrected, as there now is a vote for option number 3. :?

I will have to vote for # 2. Its normal to have minor issues with any watch brand (as long as people are 100% honest  )
Its like asking a Mercedes owner if he is 100% happy with his car; understandably, he will have something negative to say; its human nature.....
