Hello,
I have been reading the information on this site since my wife had bought me a Breitling Navitimer this past Christmas from a local jewlery store. The story behind the watch is the stores owner died 10 years ago, his wife had taken over running the store. The watch was in the stores safe, and she figured after 10 years, no one had claimed it, she put it for sale. The numbers on the back of the case are:81610 and 2587. I would like to know if anyone can answer how old the watch is and if its is a genuine Breitling. Attached are photos of the face, case back and box and documents. The blue instruction manual says its an Old Nvitimer Automatic, and it included a Breitling wallet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This watch was introduced in 1987 - 81610 is the model number, it's also known as a B13019. It's the first Navitimer that had the Breitling 13 (Valjoux 7750) movement. I don't recall when production stopped - around 1990 I believe.

It's a nice, unusual piece - and I don't know of any fakes of this.

This is my first Breitling and thank you for the information Roffensian, glad to know itis unusual and now I have an idea of how old the watch is. I work for a helicopter manufacturer and since I have started wearing the watch I have been asked if I sold my Rolex. I have another question about the paperwork, all of the new Breitlings have the yellow paperwork when did Breitling go to the yellow books?

Don't recall when yellow started - early 90s from memory - someone will soon come along and tell you.
