well, after a couple of weeks of deliberation, I finally pulled the trigger last night on a Polished Blackbird. Am very very happy with the purchase so far. The choice came down to this modeal and the Chronomat Evo with Graphite Face/Subdials. I love the distinctive look of the large date complication and the faceted bracelet. damon ![]() |

Wow! That is one gorgeous timepiece. I saw a polished one at my AD when they first came out, and was very impressed. I believe it shines like no other! Even the bezel is polished. That is just another thing that makes the Blackbird so unique. Among other things, the faceted Pilot bracelet unique to Blackbird, the large date with the black background to match the dial is another unique blackbird feature. A very special edition. Congratulations! Cheers, Carl |

thanks for the kind words. I really am enamored with the look of this watch. I will try to take some more photos (including some detail shots) tonight. if you want the high-res version of this photo to really be able to zoom in and check out the features, send me a PM, I can email it tonight. the original is a 21megapixel file so you can really see a lot of detail. |

Stunning! Would this watch be regarded as a Chrono version of the Cockpit? It looks so similar to mine except the faceted bracelet and chrono functions. I love the crown on our watches, my favorite crown on any watch! I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from it! One last thing, I am sure your big date does the same as mine and change instantly a few seconds after midnight, I love to watch it flip over and hear the little mechanical click as it does so! |

There is actually a Chrono Cockpit, but I know what you mean with the big date complication - the instant change date is one of the cooler complications. |

Thanks for the clarification Roff, a mine of information as per usual, one of the most appealing things about what makes this forum such a fun place to hang out! I agree as well, that auto flip still fascinates me to this day, i would love to know how they store the energy up to make that function work! |
