Hey guys,
I am interested in joining the Breitling family and I am looking for a Crosswind Special with a black dial in particular. I was wondering what you guys thought one should sell for if it was in good shape, say rated 95%?
I will be keeping my eye out for one, and I'd like to make sure I don't get taken for a ride.
I'm hoping you guys could help me out as this would be my introduction to the Breitlings.
And what do I need to do to know for sure if it is Authentic? Especially if it's not local and I can't have an AD look at it for me.
Thanks in advance guys!
Christopher

I'm not especially familiar with it's prices but I think it would be nice to get it from around 2300-2500$.
Don't have to worry about fakes, never seen it faked. If there's any they are very low quality, so you can't be fooled.

My initial thought was that's a bit high, but it's a popular watch so I think bnewbie is likely correct (surprise!! :D )

Yes, and it's B44.

The movement is a Breitling 44 (that's the reference number). It's based on the ETA 2892 and is considered to be a high quality movement - same as is used in the Blackbird and (essentially) the Bentley 6.75.

On the correct Bracelet, I think the watch is worth around $2500, maybe a bit more. On a strap or the incorrect bracelet, it is worth less. It all depends. The Crosswind Special is a watch that is quite popular, but It doesn't move at $3000. At $2500 it should move, but in this market it is hard to say.

Thanks guys! It's nice to get a better idea of what to pay for one.
I appreciate the feedback.
