What is the drawback in buying a watch w/o papers?
Papers prove that the watch is genuine and can add up to 10-20% to the value. Replica Breitling watches are sold with fake boxes/manuals but not fake papers.

Wont I be able to get it serviced properly? etc etc.
Lack of papers will not prevent you sending the watch to Breitling for a service.

What is the reason to sell a watch w/o papers anyway? If it is real and the papers are lost there must be some way to get a new set of papers ? Right?
Wrong! If you loose the papers, Breitling will generally not issue replacements. Until recently, there was not a global market for used watches. You would tend to go back to where you bought it and trade it in so people didn't always recognise the value of the paperwork and keep them safely. And even the best can loose their papers...
http://breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=6119&hilit=lostUnless it is an old model, always look to buy with papers. It may cost a bit more but it is far safer and you will recoup the additional cost when you decide to sell.
