Carl, this question is really directed at you. I see that you own both a Skyland
and a Seawolf. Is the Seawolf thicker and heavier than the Skyland? I own a
Skyland, and I really don't think I'd like a watch much thicker than it. Although
I love the looks of the 'wolf. Please give me the benefit of your personal experience.
And anybody else, too. Thanks.

In Carl's absence Steve, yes the Seawolf is both thicker and heavier than the AS. It's not a lot thicker, but it's a lot heavier. It's actually heavier than the SA.

On paper it's 1.1mm thicker and 14.9gr heavier. (It's heavier than a SA)

I own both a SA and the SeaWolf SS and can confirm that it is slightly heavier than the SA as it feels slightly more top heavy. It is also considerably thicker than the Avenger Skyland aswell. The SS SeaWolf truly is a beat yet very comfortable on the wrist!

Thank you, guys, for your responses. What a hunk of iron that Seawolf is! I don't know if my
wrist, massive as it is, could handle such an engine of destruction. I can only hope I get
my IWC so I won't have to make the decision. Thanks again for the info.

Hey Drax,
Like the guys say, it really is a very comfortable watch. I find that my Steelfish kind of slides around on my wrist, but the Seawolf just seems to fit it better. It's even more comfortable that my AS Blacksteel, which I actually found quite cumbersome when I wore it the few months after I got it. Possibly because of the pushpieces, but it just seemed to be in the way of everything. I barely notice the Seawolf on my wrist, in spite of the bit of extra thickness and the weight. It doesn't even seem top heavy to me, and just stays put on my wrist. I cannot elaborate enough on the virtues of the Seawolf.
One other small thing, and if it seems picky, I am just giving my candid opinion about the two watches. I find the crown on the Steelfish quite annoying, it just seems small for the watch and too slippery. I can't get a decent grasp on it to loosen it, and when I tighten the crown, I kind of have to push it around with my fingernails to get it as tight as I want. The Seawolf has the same crown as the AS, so - no problem.
Although I do love the dial on the Steelfish, and all the other details of the watch, I prefer the numerals on the Seawolf and the comparative simplicity of the dial.

Thanks, Carl, for the input. I've got a lot to think about. The reason I want to be
absolutely sure about my next watch is that it'll probably be the last nice timepiece
I ever buy. And I'll probably keep it the rest of my life (hopefully another 70 or 80
years ) I love the two Breitlings I own and have no plans of ever selling them. But
I've always loved IWCs, and if I don't get one soon, I never will. So there the situation
stands. I hope by this summer I will have it. I'll keep you guys posted, and I might even
post a picture of the great piece (whatever it is ) on my chunky wrist.

I thought the same thing last year. I bought a Steelfish and an AS Blacksteel, the Blacksteel for my 60th birthday which is actually this year. I needed to jump on the Blacksteel because it's a Limited Edition. Then....along came the Seawolf. At first, only in the pictures, I didn't like it. However, the first time I saw it in person, I knew that I had to have one. Now I have 3 Breitlings. The original goal last year was to get an updated replacement for the SuperOcean that I had for over 10 years. That ended up getting traded at my AD for the Blacksteel, so I got a 25% discount. Now, just after I get the Seawolf, I have decided that, at some point, I will have a Panerai PAM112 model. It has a very minimalist design, no complications, just hour and minute hand, and I love the simplicity and look of the watch, and the fact that even though it is a simple look it is still a diving watch good for 300meters.
The whole point of the rambling here, is that don't be surprised if down the road you will decide to get another watch.

That Panerai sounds cool. I must admit in the past I've been kind of lukewarm
towards them, but after seeing a few in the flesh I'm starting to understand
the loyalty they inspire. Of course, the IWC is my immediate choice; the problem
is deciding which model and whether I buy from a dealer (yikes! the cost) or from
a private owner (gotta save every penny I can ) I'm sure we'll talk lots more
about this in the future. In the meantime, enjoy your Seawolf.
