Hey Mark, have you tried to overhaul one of these 7750's already? It's my favorite! But in the beginning I always had some parts left over .... :huh

And then I had to take it all apart, and figure out where the part would go! Hah, good times!

Have you done any of the new Valgrange range of movts yet? Are they that much better?

Only thing I can't do is to regulate them, I wish I had an electronic timer to regulate them properly but some of the tools are way too expensive to justify for a hobby!!

Aaaghhh yes - that's it but they do go for quite a lot of money and anyway I'm still saving for my Panerai so it would have to wait for the mo!!!

As someone who also collects Panerai, which model interests you?

Good question - I have a deposit down on a 2001-C 12 click polished bezel PAM24 with a T dial (one of my faves!!) but same dealer also has a 2005-F La Bomba PAM87 and now I'm torn although the 87 is a third more expensive - dilemma time!!! Ideally I should buy the 24 and save a little more then get an 001 as well - that way I get to have 2 of them!!!

Hi Guys an Gals, Been away on vacation in beautiful Tuscany - went to the Panerai Museum in Firenze (am I allowed to mention the P word here???!!!). Handled and drooled over £100,000 worth of Vintage Panerai's in Mr Ferretti's shop too - treatsville indeed. Hi Vanessa - I have indeed serviced a few of these now - thing that always gets me is trying to get the Oscillating Pinion in the bearing hole and then getting the 60 second clutch to fit on that - drives me nuts sometimes!!! But - it is a beautiful movement and a real work of art. Have you done any of the new Valgrange range of movts yet? Are they that much better? I wish I had a clue what you were referring too I don't know what that means... About the regulation timer, I don't think it should be hard to find an old-fashion one that will do the job... Like

The Valgrange range of movts are the new models from ETA and is replacing the 7750 and others in ETA's line up. It's not a movt that can be bought from a watch material supplier either!! Not sure which brands apart from the Chopard Mille Miglia that are using it yet!!

Honestly, about 85% of what I repair is Rolex, and the other 15% includes mostly TagHeuer, Omega, and Baume&Mercier. Unfortunately I don't "get to play" with the "special" stuff! Take care! Vanessa

I think I want to get another Panerai again at some point.. i had one (don't even remember the model #) and then sold it because I got bored of it real quick.. but it got a lot of notice. Not necessarily compliments, but notice.

It's so very personal isn't it, this question of choice...I'd go for the 87, but then I've always been difficult! I've gone a bit 'chrono' recently, and my list now includes a 250 I, 252 I and 253 I - there's a J series 251 arriving in early November too....my daily wearer is a 219 J and I'm still trying to sell my 176 J (cheap!!). Oh yes, and I'm selling the 252 as well....
