I'm looking at buying my first Breitling. I'm strongly considering the a1335611/b898-ss. I saw PrestigeTime has it "on sale" for $4380. My local AD said his price was $4670 with the stainless steel and an additional $380 for the croco strap with tang buckle. I was really hoping to keep it under $4K. Is that reasonable? Is it possible? I appreciate you help in advance.
Thanks,
Nick
The MSRP is $5020 with tang buckle croco strap. So his price is actually $5050, which is 30 bucks over MSRP! Now, with a 20% discount, that would bring you in around 4 grand. Authenticwatches.com shows their sale price as $3475. I guess, to answer your question: Yes, it is possible. And I would say: If you get it from an AD, it is reasonable to ask for a 20% discount. Normally our 2 ADs in Vancouver will do it right off the bat without argument. Having said that, I have only looked at models from the Aeromarine line. Maybe the Chronomat Evo does not usually sell for such a discount. I know it is one of the most, if not the most, Breitling model. Maybe someone else can chime in with their personal experience.
If you can find another AD that has one, I would definitely look elsewhere as well.
BTW, that really is a beautiful watch. It's no wonder they are so popular.
Cheers,
Carl
