Post subject: | Breitling Pilot Bracelet |
Just wondering how old the latest version of the Pilot's bracelet. At the AD, they told me the value is over 1200.00. That is for the stainless steel one. After seeing it, I could believe it. My question is, does anyone know how long this bracelet is expected to last? My SuperOcean, bought in 1997, had a Professional I bracelet, and after 10 years it cannot be repaired. I can replace it with a Professional II for about 400.00. It seems to me that if the PRO I lasted for 10 years, the new Pilot must almost last forever. I know a lot, if not all, of the links are screw-in so they can be replaced, unlike my Pro I. Still, I am not complaining. I think 10 years of service from a Pro I is pretty darn good. The SuperOcean is in for a refurbish now, should get it back next week. I am having a rubber bracelet put on it, which should look pretty stunning with the black dial. It is still a great looking watch after 10 years. I realize the rubber strap is really an either love it or hate it deal, but I think that the Breitlings are a class act no matter what bracelet you put on - rubber, leather or metal. Cheers, Carl |

I've seen and handled Pilot bracelets from the mid 90's that were used more or less daily... and after polishing, they looked brand new. There was no sideways bend in them or anything. |

Hello Carl, I can agree with the admin, I have seen worn watches from the first generation, where You could put the pilotbracelet on after polishing on a brandnew watch, and will hardly see a difference (if the scratches on the clasp aren't to deep). According to my opinion, it is still the best bracelet on the market. BG Thomas |
