Hi all,

I've recently bought an Avenger Skyland and am thrilled with it. Although there is something that I've noticed that I wanted to throw out to the group.

When running the chronograph I notice that sweep of the second hand is not always perfectly regular. It seems that it moves in 1/4 second increments but from time to time will seem to skip/jump a 1/2 second increment.

I've no idea whether this represents a problem or not. It is certainly not an accuracy problem. I've run the chronograph for well over 8 hours synchronised to the second dial and, to the eye, they remain perfectly aligned.

What are your thoughts/experiences?

Martin

This sounds like a great question for Vanessa to answer!

I noticed the same with my SA, i thought it was normal thing of automatic watches... i noticed it's always on the same places that it skips (or seems to skip)

Not sure if my SA jumps at the same point - its just that its not as smooth as I would have thought. I plan to see my local AD tomorrow to check out a few Avengers as a comparison. Will keep you updated.

Meanwhile - I'd love to know your experiences...

Martin

Update... Visited by AD today and compared with another Skyland. The chronograph sweep was regular. So seems I have a problem. Will be returned for repair. I will have to live without it for a while :(

Sorry I wasn't here sooner...
Anyways, I do believe there might be an issue there.
It probably has something to do with the tension of the lever that keeps the intermediate chrono wheel (I don't know if that the correct term :? ) connected between the second wheel and the chrono wheel. It's an easy adjustment though if that's what it is!
I wish I could be of more help sometimes guys, but it's not always easy to read every single thread.... next time sent me a pm if you need my advise, and I answer it publicly so everybody knows...
Take care!

Vanessa

Thanks Vanessa. I'm new to the forum but can clearly see that it's people like you - willing to share your knowledge and enthusiasm - that make this such as great place. I'm looking forward to having my Skyland back to working perfection. Will keep you all updated.

Cheers, Martin

I picked up my Skyland from my AD this afternoon. Happy to report that the chronograph now operates smoothly.

As a bonus, the watch was returned in a nice case and with a polishing cloth. I'm looking forward to giving it some wrist time.

Cheers,
Martin
