I was curious if everyone else got the email this morning from Breitling on the select program. It seems like it costs $450 to join and then $129 monthly and you get a selection of watches to choose from. The watches are fully refurbished models and it seems like you can earn loyalty points which can be used towards the purchase of a new watch.

Breitling Select

It seems like a good idea and I've be curious to know if the full lineup is available or just select models. I know the email mentioned Premiers and Superoceans but I didn't click through too much on the website.

I saw this myself - not sure how as I'm UK-based, but may have been due to the VPN I use.

Anyway, it's an interesting idea and potentially quite a disrupter to the marketplace, so I take my hat off to Breitling for the concept. That said, it's not for me though as $2000 a year on renting 3 watches for a few months at a time is a good chunk towards owning 1 forever.

no, you aren‘t „renting 3 watches“.
your monthly payments (for a total of ca. 1.5k for the year) go towards „SquadPoints“ that can be redeemed when purchasing one of the „Special Offer“ pieces Breitling will suggest.

the start up fee covers 6 insured courier shipments and three overhauls/straps for the returned watches; any „normal“ wear and tear is also covered by this, btw.

here are the #BreitlingSelect models on offer for now - the collection will be expanded soon, with SOH added and will continue to grow:

one last point: the current #BreitlingSelect watches are NOT refurbished, these are brand new

watches that will be offered to the participants for purchase will be CPO though

Fred, I only mentioned these watches are refurbished since that’s the wording on the website:

* Watches from the #BreitlingSelect collection come from a selected, dedicated assortment of fully refurbished watches to ensure the full experience of Breitling’s high-quality products.

Are the squad points dollar for dollar? As in the $1,500 spent on the monthly equates to $1,500 toward the purchase?

It's an interesting concept and something unique that Breitling can offer direct to the consumer that an AD can't offer. Will be very interested to see how it plays out for people and for Breitling.

OK, the "SquadPoints" piece wasn't clear from what I'd read on the page - https://www.breitling.com/gb-en/breitlingselect/ - as I just read the 3 main points and not the FAQ.

and even the FAQ still aren't clear enough, working on that ;)

note that whenever you decide to accept a "Special Offer" the program and the monthly payments end; say you'll receive such a Special Offer after 8 months, this will be an individualized offer, based on the models you chose, it will be based on standard CPO-pricing minus the accrued "Squadpoints" for 8 months; you purchase that watch and receive a "new" factory-refurbished watch, you return the loaner & all payments end.

Just a couple of quick questions, just how much of the rental fee is put towards the cost of future purchases? Dollar for dollar, or 50 cents on the dollar, does anyone know? Also, any reason why none of the offerings include models with the B01 based movement?
