Post subject:  Buy with Warranty Card

Hello All -

Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry if this topic mentioned before.

I am considering buying Navitimer O1 but it does not have warranty card.

I have never purchased one without warranty card.

Any cons?

Depends on the age of the watch. If it's new (in other words, it would be within it's warranty period if there was a warranty) then I personally wouldn't buy it.... unless it was seriously cheap. The cons of not having a valid warranty are fairly self-evident - if something goes wrong then you're on the hook for whatever that repair would cost.

If it's an older watch and would otherwise be out of it's warranty, then unless you really value a complete set of papers (which, incidentally, I do) then it's much less important. Again, you'd expect a slight discount as a watch having a full set of B&Ps will be worth more than one without.

warranty card is not mandatory for me.

I prefer pay less for a great condition watch :-)

If it’s still under warranty or should be, then I would want the card. I’ve had to send it for warranty work in the past and am in process of sending in another potential warranty issue right now with one of my Breitlings.

Personally I'd never buy a watch without the original papers. There are too many out there to take a chance!

if it is under warranty...and it didn't come with a card, can you not still send it in? I mean depending on how modern it is, Breitling should have records of its serial number no? (have never tried to look up the serial of a pre" digital ownership tracking" era Breitling). hopefully the move to digital ownership certificates should nullify the issue once it's complete at worst.
