Can anyone tell me what an AD pays for a superocean steefish before retail mark up? Also, do I need to go through an AD to have my watch sent to Breitling for a service/repair or can I ship it myself?

i dont know for a fact but i've read elsewhere on this forum that AD's typically purchase breitlings for 50% of the MSRP

I don't have the first answer in my head, but there have been a few threads for this lately. I believe though that the AD pays approximately 45% of the MSRP. Then of course, you have to remember that the AD have to pay for employees, premises, taxes...

The second question have also been up the last days, but you don't have to go through an AD to send the watch in. In fact, there are a few stories recommending you not to send it through the AD network, and instead send it by yourself.

at such a deep discount you would expect (at the very least) the employees at the AD to be sporting a Breitling!

Well, still, there are a lot of other costs attached to sell watches than just the AD cost for the watch itself.

yes but under contract they cannot sell watches at the price they recieve them. there is a limit which i'm guessing is 40% discount judging by the recent spate of sales (most of which were actually pulled). again, these are not facts but information based on reading posts on this forum

Where do I find the correct address for Breitling Service? Also, any special way I should pack my watch for shipping? Insurance is a given.

I don't know where you are located, but you can find your country's official distributor on www.breitling.com. I believe they both listed ADs and service centers before, but now I only find ADs. However, if you call or email the official distributor displayed for your country you should get answers both where to ship it, who to ship it to and how they prefer it to be packed.

Yep, exactly that.

The price varies from country to country but is usually in the 45 - 55% of MSRP range.

Its definitely not 40%. Those are strange one-timer things. I think their contracts actually are much lower, like in the 15-20% range. Its just that many ADs break the rules.

You can ship it yourself, but you have to pay for it. If you take it to the AD they will cover the cost if its under warranty or if you actually pay to have your watch serviced. Sending it in yourself can be expensive, and fully insure can run $50+.

How long do you have to work to get the discount? Does 1 month on the job give you
access to the discount? I am thinking of getting a job at an AD
just to get a discount for my Navi World

thanks for the info. My AD in Montreal said his watch repair person is Breitling certified, however, I seriously doubt he does the repair like that done at Breitling HQ. That's why I'm a little leary of getting my service there. If I'm paying hundreds for a service, I want the Breitling HQ doing it.
Is there some way to know for sure if you are getting a genuine Breitling service? Do you get some sort of certificate?
