I was at LA swiss in Toronto last week and it offered 40% off which is great for boxing day. Was going to buy a Blackbird but they didnt have the polished version. Maybe next year... but last year was 30% only. I think the recession has something to do with the 40% this year. 3 years ago I got a Chrono Superocean for 40% off.... I guess hit and miss for some years.

Grigoros authorised a La Swiss chain wide 40% off sale between Christmas and New Year.

We are talking about canada. If us USA people went over, we'd be paying close to 15% in taxes on the spot. The only way to have that returned to us as non-canadian residents would be to declare it, in which case we would have to pay applicable taxes and duties on our side.

Not to mention that not declaring it is a criminal offence!

All you have to do is visit Canada, buy the watch, put it on your wrist and have the store mail you the box and the papers. Why would you have to declare it at the border?

If its a SA make sure your jacket is covering it; you don't want to draw any attention. 8)

As far as taxes go, you would probably only have to pay the GST
(a whole 5%). Provincial tax is only for residents. And then again if you pay CASH, maybe even the GST could be waived off!!! 8)

I LOVE CAPITALISM

It's still a criminal offence - failure to get caught does not make it legal!

True, but is obeying an unjust law illegal or just moral? Hmm. Ponderous.Image

Still illegal, though ill usually do whatever it takes to save a few extra bones. My issue is that at the end of all of this the savings may not end up being that great after all.
