As Driver said, it could come from A17040, A17340 or A17360.
A17045 and A17345 were offered only in black and yellow, with brushed finish and "professional" written on the dial.
I have a black one.
@Driver
That was from the top of my head, but I'm glad that I still have all chronologs from the 80ies til 2012 or 2013, 6 or 7 Handbooks and The Book.
I have few double chronologs which I can send to you free of charge, if you want to start "all over again". :)

Thanks for the awesome offer 'Newb, but if I start down that route I'll want to collect them all again! I remember I paid an offensive amount for the first Chonolog from '97. The guy I bought it off on ebay thought the final price was a typo as I was in a bidding war with two other people!

(@OP - Sorry for going OT)

Received what purports to be final word from Breitling today, via a third party.
No change. They are unwilling to admit that they could have ever received the watch with a blue face.
They refuse to discuss the issue, and point to where they logged the watch in as a A17345, with a black dial.
I have asked if they have any photographic proof of the watch condition when they received it, including face,, and they haven't answered that question.
Their response is that they returned the watch to the original condition as listed in their database.

I will be keeping the watch, it satisfies every condition that I originally bought it for, except the face colour.
But I will be selling other Breitling watches, and I will not be considering Breitling for any other purchases in the future.
They turned what was a simple request for information into a one sided confrontation.
As a PR exercise, it is a disaster. A customer that will disavow them forever, instead of offering a simple explanation.
I initially told them I was not looking for compensation, swag, or anything else, and still liked the watch. It is after all just a watch.
And they couldn't even talk to me.

I had the watch serviced by Breitling via Gregory Jewellers. They handled the situation with professionalism and respect. My opinion is that Breitling did not support them. Don't know that as fact, because I have never been able to speak with them.
Moving on to things that matter.

Are you sure it was a blue dial? LOL
I mean there are times that the clouds make my BlackBird look blue! LOL
The "oddest" part of the story for me is that Breitling didn't charge for a new dial... :yeahthat

Seriously though love to see a before and after picture. You had the watch for 8+ years so I'm sure you got a couple.

I was told the dials are not able to be refitted, and replacement is included in the full service cost.

Not unhappy with any of the work they did, just wish they had asked me before doing this.
Yes, was put back to how the watch left Breitling.
Yes, all services to complete the service appear to have been done properly.
yes, watch keeps extremely good time now.

Only questions I received from them was a quote to replace items at additional cost, ie, crystal, crown, and a full buff.
I did not agree to those items being done for a significant upsell.

Definitely sure of the colour of the dial. Looked at it every day for nearly eight years. They tried to tell me that if I replaced the anti reflective coating at additional cost, it may take on a more blue look. Since I didn't pay for that (with new crystal) I don't know if that would make the difference.

I also do not know if the prev owner ever had the dial changed. Apparently Australian service records are a bit incomplete, as the work has been subcontracted out at various times, and records of any changes or services were often never forwarded to Breitling.(?)

All I was after was a verbal statement from them acknowledging that they should have called. Do not believe I will ever get that, as that would be an admission of guilt now, instead of a common courtesy as it would have been then.

When I get over my frustration I will search some out.
Wasn't going to win any arguments, so waved the white flag.

Having spent the best part of 30 yrs selling things from finance to power stations, I just don't get the customer service deficiencies.
Whenever I was faced with an unsatisfied customer it was an opportunity. A converted customer always buys more, recommends more, and is happier. They could have had that with one ph call. Instead all I got was "you could not be right, cos we are right". I was ready to accept that it was 'back to factory spec now' as an answer. I even told them that.

Nevermind, all over. Now for that PanereiI was looking at. No more Breitling for me.
