I keep going back to Breitling to see if this is sold out...I would have expected (even with current crisis?) that 2000 pieces would have sold out quick at $4990.

The 1959 Re-Edition Navitimer which I would think would be more popular than this Top Time is still not sold out. Still available in multiple AD's. Given the current crisis I don't see this selling out too quickly!

This won’t sell out very quickly. First of all because of the crisis and also because 2.000 pieces these days isn’t very „limited“. I also think there isn’t a very big audience for this specific Top Time. The price is appealing though and there is hope there will come another Top Time which is more appealing.

I’m going to agree with Scot on this one. Everyone through the 806 would’ve sold out right away but that didn’t seem to be the case.

$4800 and $8600 is a fair amount of difference. IF only the 806 was priced at $4800!!!
806 no longer says "add to bag" Breitling.com...so guessing they are close to gone.

You abviously dont have a clue. That has nothing to do with it. That would only mean Breitling doesent make them available anymore online but they sure have many still at their boutiques. There for sure are still many 806 at ADs available and also some ADs who are still waiting to receive their 806 watches. They don’t deliver ALL the 806 models in one go. Maybe you don’t know but most parts of the watch are hand made and therefore takes time!

Or some don't allow strangers to tell them they "don't have a clue" :!:

Sorry, I didn’t know my statement of „dont have a clue“ would be received so cruel by you guys. So I’ll leave my comments at that. And I agree with your statement watchfred.

I've got to be honest, but I'm not totally feeling this one. I don't hate it, but I personally think the "Zorro" dial works better with the rotating bezel on the original Sprint. I just think the dial is a little too sporty for a smooth, sterile bezel.

No-one's overstepped the mark in this thread as far as I'm concerned...

I think I would have preferred it with a rotating bezel and just calling it a Sprint.

This is certainly a nice looking watch -- fresh and fun, and at a price point that is more accessible for many. For me, though, the most interesting thing is not the watch itself, but the marketing campaign that goes along with it. Clearly meant to appeal to a younger crowd, and expressly targeted to women, as well. It will be interesting to watch the rollout next week, to see how all of this is fitting together.

That being said, I must admit to some personal disappointment, as I had always imagined that, when the Top Time returned, it would be a re-incarnation of the ref. 810. It would have been nice to see a new line of Top Times introduced all at once that would have included a variety of models. Oh, well...

patience, Jim...
working on some TopTime projects, but especially in the current environment adding many more SKU to the core catalog ist problematic, so we‘ll see LE and „Capsule Collections“ next to existing and refreshed lines; not a time to widen the catalog and increase financing pressure for AD.
