Hello,

I noticed this on a watch that was one month old, that was purchased at a AD.

Looks like its a Tang strap, but with a deployment.

My AD doesnt know about it.

Anyone have one in real life or know about it?

Part number is A20D.6

Yes it is Breitling's recently released new Deployant. With the use of this deployant strap you can use the same watchband for either a deployant buckle or a tang buckle. Thus, there will no longer be any need for the older style deployant straps. The only major drawback as I see it is that there is no specific adjustment to your wrist that was possible with the older style. Now all of the sizing is done with pre punched holes which allows the possibility for an ill fitting strap. In my opinion the older style allowed for a better fit!

Yes it's widely available and it's the latest deployant that Breitling are offering for their straps. Been around a while now, so rather surprising your AD doesn't know anything about it!

Im from Australia.....so we dont have that many AD's compared to overseas. So they seem to be abit behind things here.

Im curious to know how the new deployment actually attaches where the old tang buckle goes. The normal tang buckle has the small spring bar that hold it to the strap. How does the newer one attach?

I've handled one of these new deployants although I wasn't looking in any great detail at the connection method, but the connection method looks similar to the Panerai deployant which uses two bars that screw together in the middle of the centre piece that you can see sticking out on the far left of your picture. Very secure and very neat.

I'm in the market for a deployment clasp soon. Would be cool if anyone had pictures or video of old vs New clasp and can do a review.

I have both the new and the older deployant and I find way better the new one. And I prefer deployant to pin buckle because of longer strap life and safety against dropping the watch.

Any chance you can share some photos of new style buckle. There's no info online of yet showing this new style buckle.

I wouldn't because it is on a non-Breitling watch right now... :lingsrock: But it is the very same as the one visible within this thread.

And not at all cheap...
If anyone has a link to a non branded equivalent of this I would be grateful.

I don't think you'll find a 3rd party deployant with a similar quality. And a deployant quality is a security issue too. Dropping a watch because of a broken clasp does really hurt I think. You can save money on the leather strap with much less problem.

Thanks Robertus,

Reason is it would not be for a Breitling. I can make the judgement call when I find one.

I much prefer the style of the old Deployant. I think a hole-less strap is a clean look!
