Hi

I have my eye on a limited edition (100 pieces) Breitling Chronomat. Item number is Ab01103a /q620

The face is a bronze color with Grey subdials and it comes with a calfskin band/deployment clasp in dark grey.

The list price is $8075 for number 8 out of 100.

The piece is available at a local Breitling outlet store for $5700 including tax with my military discount.

I was wondering if this is a good deal?

I am also considering buying the pilot stainless steel bracelet with deployment clasp for $900.00 which list price sells for $1200 but know nothing about this bracelet?

Any input would be appreciated.

The price that the watch is being offered for is reasonable, if you like the watch and plan on keeping it. It is in the outlet store for a reason, in that it did not sell well when initially released. Make sure that the watch is brand new and comes with Breitling's full five year warranty. Do not buy the watch if you have any reservations what so ever. You will be hard pressed to recoup your money if you decide to sell the watch at a later date. Keep in mind that similar discounts are available from AD's on slow moving watches so keep that in mind when making your decision. Good Luck!

Thanks!
Watch is new, warranty from the outlet store is 5 years but 2 years on the movement.

As a watch buyer the most important part of the warranty to me is the warranty on the movement!

Indeed - what meaningfully are they warrantying if not the movement? I've not encountered that sort of distinction.

I was mistaken. The whole watch warranty is 2 years. At the outlet they reduce the cost down significantly and take the warranty from 5 to 2 years.
They include a free full service on the watch at the 2 year mark as well.

I bought it so I am good to go! The 30% off list was a good deal for a limited version.

Thanks all for the input.

Congratulations on your purchase! I am not looking to rain on your parade however you should keep in mind that there is little reason to believe that a limited edition watch will hold it's value any better than a non limited watch. The value of a watch on the secondary market is driven by simple economics, the laws of supply and demand. The vast majority of current Breitling models suffer from weak resale values, however, you only have to be concerned about this if you plan on selling the watch! Enjoy your watch!

Your point is well taken.
I could give a rats a__ about the resale value, I like the watch and I didn't pay anything close to retail.

Watches to me are nothing about investment they are about enjoyment. My investments are doing fine even as the market crashes.

I own an omega seamaster chrono, Rolex, Omega Speedmaster and this Breitling none of which were bought as investments.

That is exactly the right attitude to have! Too many people these days consider the purchase of watches to be an investment, which they are not. Some individuals who purchase a Breitling are later shocked at what the watch is worth when they took to sell the watch to purchase another one! Congratulations again!
