On Monday night ~8:30PM I dropped by my local Breitling Authorized Dealer and "accidentally" found out that all Breitlings in stock were discounted
40% !!! I could not believe it!!!

I looked at a few watches, and fell in love with the Chronomat TT. I did the calculation with the rep and the final price was 4900$ (CAN)...!!!
MSRP $7210-40%+taxes...You get the picture. The rep told me that the sale would last till the end of the month... I went home all excited.... (SIDENOTE>>> I know that Chronomats TT are $8210 MSRP; this one was marked 7210$; clerical error?)

I returned to the store the next day and was told the 40% off MSRP was pulled by Breitling Headquarters.... I believe there was some kind of a glitch between the local AD and the Headquarters...

What gives??? Needless to say, I got really upset

I am trying to track down a Chronomat TT in the second hand market and (if the price is right) I will be a buyer!!!

I live in Ottawa, Canada. I got a call from my closest AD in Montreal on the morning of Dec 29 telling me he could give me 40% off retail. I had left my contact info with the AD in the event the model I wanted (black dial steelfish) came into the store. Well my watch came in and he offered me 40% off. I jumped in my car and drove the 2 hours to the AD. When I got there he told me that Breitling HQ had called off the discount. However, the AD was true to his word as a deal is a deal and he honoured the 40%. Needless to say I am impressed with this (La swiss on St. Catherine St. W). I told him I would share the excellent service and professional way he dealt with the issue, that's why I'm in this forum.
I would go back to your AD and ask that they honour the 40% provided he gave you a verbal commitment to do so. Good luck.

He told me he cant do it and that he would get in trouble from headquarters..needless to say I got into an argument....

BTW la suisse downtown Montreal have exceptional service and their watchmaker is TOP NOTCH

It's typical Grigoros.

Grigoros, the parent company of La Swiss told all La Swiss stores that they could discount Breitlings 40% between Christmas and New Year. However, Grigoros have a track record of reneging on those deals and that's what they've done here - advised stores to end the deal early.

There may be a way to still get 40% through your AD, but I'm not going to discuss it here - PM me.

For everyone else, to clarify my earlier post.............

I asked the OP to PM me on a way that he could still get the 40% from the person he was dealing with - it wasn't necessary as the AD stood by the deal anyway.

I did not mean to imply that if anyone could get the deal. Apologies for any confusion.

Who is the local AD in Ottawa? I brought my "Crosswind Special" to Jubilee (who no longer carry the line) to have it sent to Toronto for an estimate for cleaning/polishing as well as any maintenance it may need. I understand "Birks" no longer carries them either. Lucky for me I just happen to receive my rubber strap in this week so my "Superocean Chrono" is up and running. I have always worshipped "Rolex" as the benchmark but have now been converted to Breitlig. Hoping someday to work up to something higher and increase my collection.
