Battery fitted by who? Was it By Breitling? I believe there is a specific reset procedure that needs to be followed after replacing the battery. If it was fitted by Breitling then you have a 12 month warranty so you should go back to them. If it was fitted by a third party you may have an issue..

thanks for reply Breitling maniac m

it was serviced by them last time but this time i took iy to my local Breitling shop who said £180 for battery change and polish, then called me 2 days later to say they didn't have the case die and would have to send back to Breitling and it would probably be £300, i said as a dealer you should have the die and why should i be penalised and have to pay more, they agreed with me and sent it off,Brietling said it would cost £495 and suggested i had a new dial and bezel(which are perfectly fine) and wanted £1060 ,,,,,,

i said i am not paying that for a battery change so they sent it back free of charge with the renata battery removed and case handtight, i ordered the battery and downloaded reset procedure from the net

and it doesn't work correctly the hands keep stopping or losing time within an hour

any ideas

Tough one. You could have refused the additional work suggested by Breitling and just had the battery swap but you’ve missed that chance now. If you go back to Breitling they’re likely to suggest a full overhaul to remedy what has happened. Your other option is to find a third party specialist who knows what they’re doing but it’s a gamble. If I were in your position I’d send it back to Breitling and bite the bullet

lets hope its the reset procedure. the thing is £495 for just a battery and polish is extortion, had it been £300 i would have begrudgingly said yes for the £2 battery

Yep, those prices are steep when compared to the actual value of the older pieces. The good thing is the one year Breitling warranty.
