Go to www.time.gov and chose your timezone and then you can monitor how much time your watch gains or losses

I set mine and monitor it against my Skyhawk A-T Ti which is set via the atomic clock.

My SA only lost 1 second in the last 4 days!

That's OK for now. It's obviously within COSC specs (just), but the watch will take 4 - 6 weeks to 'settle' to the routine of daily use. Leave it for another few weeks and then check again and see where it's at.

Remember also that the way that you leave it at night affects it - it will run faster when laying on it's back than when on it's side. Never leave it crown down.

So crown up is cool? Or should it be face up?

And why not crown down?

Crown up or face up is fine - it will run slower with crown up and faster with face up.

Historically the argument against crown down was the risk of bending the crown stem with the weight on it - not sure that's still a practical risk with screw downs, it's just one of those 'things I know not to do'.

Mine actually runs slower with face up and faster when I wear it.

That's not unusual - what I should have said was that it runs faster face up than crown up.

:yeahthat

I set mine by my Skyhawk AT Ti too!

However, my SA was gaining 8 secs per day!
