When checking your watch for accuracy against the atomic clock, is it normal for the accuracy to fluctuate? One days it's running -2secs and the other +1.

Without knowing the model of the watch you are talking about I would say that it is 99.9% expected behaviour. For a COSH certified automatic the spec is -4 +6 seconds per day and it can go either way on a daily basis as that timing depends on a number of variables like temp, orientation wind level etc.

Sorry about that. The model I'm referring to is the hercules which is cosc.

no matter what the model is, these fluctuations are typical for mechanical watches as @Arcam explained; -2 to +1 is exceptionally accurate, even for a Chronometer ;)

I'd say you're doing rather well for a watch as old as the Herc and only a -2/+1 variation. :thumbsup:

Good to know. The watch was serviced about a year ago.
Has been serviced every 2 years by previous owner.
